re: 2015 Bama has most Freshman All Americans. Why do 5* go there & sit on bench?

I remember when Skip was the head baseball coach at LSU and the rosters were pretty much unlimited, he would stockpile all the players he could find and he had walk ons lining up to be with the program. He said in an interview, if they are on my team, I don't have to play them. Plus, when he lost good players to draft or a recruit didn't pan out, he had walk ons that were better waiting in the wings. Now with roster limits, you miss, it hurts your team. Apply that philosophy to football.

I appreciate that you attempted a weak shot at sarcasm, but Alabama is doing quite well in the classroom.

We had 29 football players earn degrees this semester (in December!). Out APR leads the four championship teams.

Overall, Univ of Alabama academics are very much on the rise and gaining respect.
