auburn was screwed no doubt in 04...and if i was an AU fan i would still be mad. the problem for AU was that they lost on their homefield to USC in 03, and i don't think a lot of voters forgot about that.

what stinks for auburn fans is that it will be a while before they have a team like that again. they had every piece of the puzzle that year.

well i know ive really over-simplified the potential matchup by comparing AU`S big three against USC `s but I believe these two teams were much closer in talent level than the ESPN/national media machine would have had us believe four years ago..so sad we`ll never know..but rest assured it will happen again and only when it`s happenin to Notre Dame or USC will real change occur...thanks ranters good opinions all

If I was an Auburn fan I wouldn't be over it yet. It was only 4 years ago so I'd say it's still an open wound. I whole heartedly agree that AU>OU that year and although USC may have one (even though I would have been cheering for Auburn!) I think AU would have not been raped and pillaged like OU was in that national championship game. I think with the SEC's recent dominance as a whole it would be hard to leave us out in the event of another 3 way tie. Then again, the media is still on there knees for USC despite their crappy conference.
