I dont think so. VOLS have dominated every 2nd half sans Alabama. It might be connected to S&C, but there isn't much you can do for concussions and the like.

As someone mentioned earlier, we need to make sure our players are taking their PEDs.

Has conditioning been discussed among you guys as a possible connection to the injuries?

I mean nobody knows exactly what's led to the injuries, it's all speculation.

There's only been a couple of muscle injuries. KMac's Pec tear, JRM's labrum (had prior issues with his shoulder), and Sapp and Kamara's knee injuries. The rest have been concussions and ankle fractures/sprains, so it's hard to really pin point what's gone wrong.

Not going to lie - that is brutal and I don't think any team could handle that kind of attrition and keep winning.

Our brony arse pussies will win more games than Ole Miss this year, or quite possibly any other year.

Devastating number of injuries. Now they are fielding non-starters and what should have been their depth. You are right... brutal.

Triple option offense

Wut? Triple option?

Half came on one play

Oh ok......well we'll take it out then?

VOLS held them to 3.9 YPC

Which is quite a bit more than they had against Missouri, Vanderbilt or Ole Miss before the game was 40 points out of reach.

quote:

Vols held Florida to 106 on 31 carries (3.4 ypc), which was nearly a yard and a half less than their season average

The season average we all made fun of because it came against UMass, North Texas and Kentucky????????

Tennessee has been hammered with injuries, but even when healthy early on their defense was not dominant. It was solid, Top 25 type unit, but it was not some shut down force. And the offensive line was average at best with all those guys. At best.

Tennessee MIGHT have beaten Texas A&M with all those guys, and certainly would not have lost to Alabama by 40 points, but Alabama pushed Tuttle, Vereen and Barnett in the run again around/ran past them with ease. JRM and Kirkland would have certainly been better, but Tennessee's front guys (the only one of which that is hurt is McKenzie, and he played for a qtr) were dominated.

Tennessee was trying to handle Reuben Foster and Tim Williams with bookend freshmen tackles last week after Chance Hall left the game with an injury lol

That's pretty much what I was trying to say. I do not like arguing with you Davidx3, you are one of my favorite posters otb.

I don't think you'll find a VOLS poster OTB that would try to blame the defeat to Bama on injuries, more so the nature in which it occurred. Pretty clear that any team who plans on beating Bama needs to be healthy, and play at their very best on that given day. Neither applied to VOLS.

I 100% believe we beat A&M if both teams are at full strength however.

Hell, we would've beat with all those guys out if you cut the turnovers from 7 to say 3, which is still a lot.

Agreed about Alabama. JRM and Kirkland would've been able to slow Hurts down some imo but when Bama brings their A game like that, no one in the country can beat them imo.

My friend SOG and I have been 100% on the VOLS 10-2 bandwagon since last year, with those two losses being a combination of Bama and either UGA/A&M. I still believe that and think that the VOLS will be a tough out for whoever faces them in Atlanta. I still don't think Alabama is a good matchup for them considering Dobbs deficiencies and an average offensive line, but you never know.
