Alabama has a math problem. Must be new math. Heck, even their own media guide did not recognize several titles until they went back and REVISIONED history to suit themselves.

If you are legit, you don't have to make stuff up. If you are truly great, you don't have to grab false accolades. If you are the chit, you don't have to say you are the chit... unless you have little man syndrome.

16 national titles is a joke. If I were an Alabama fan, I would not claim 16.

And to top it off, Alabama fans discount Yale and Princeton's history all the time, while simultaneously claiming things from the same eras.

We have at least 15 legitimate National Championships.

False. The mid-1800s and 1920s-1940s were extremely different eras. The rules of the game were extremely different. Most of the country was not playing before the 1890s. One is considered "modern" and the other is not, because of this very reason.

I've seen you in multiple threads going on about ignorance of history but you're only exposing your own ignorance.

Alabama invented Southern football with those Rose Bowl championships and brought respect to the region at a time that was still pretty raw from the Civil War and Reconstruction.

Jacknola:

I don't think you know when the civil war took place, or when southern football was invented, or how many Rose bowls Bama played in.

Princeton won a national title in 1950. It went undefeated in 1964. So, your rebuttal is moot.

Reconstruction ended in 1877, but the effects lasted into the 1920s.

They didn't win either poll that year.

There were more than 2 polls. Look, the point is the same. Alabama claims x national title with the same criteria as another school and then disclaims the other school's title. It is just typical Alabama fan hypocritical BS.

You can take it up with the fine folks at the College Football Data Warehouse and Winsipedia.

CFDW say LSU has 11 for goodness sake. The school only claims the 3 major ones. I see Winsipedia gives the Tide 14 which seems pretty accurate. Congrats on hanging another banner!

Not really. The school claims 1941 but many fans don't. That's really the only one that falls into that category.

But few people try to claim any besides the AP and Coaches since the AP started in the late 1930s.

Some people say the FWAA is a third major poll, but Princeton didn't win that one either.

Credits LSU with 4 recognized titles. You're looking at the "Total" listing which shows every single year the school was selected by any poll.

Bama has 28 of those.
