I had the pleasure of watching this kid play last night. Best QB play I’ve seen in years. I’ve seen Collins and Holstein, I’ll take this cat over any QB in the state….including Arch!
The poise and accuracy this kid plays with is special. Made unbelievable throws downfield to where only his WRs could make the catch. WM secondary played well imo, he just hit the windows. Under pressure, didn’t matter he still made plays. Has an Arkansas offer and Ole Miss I believe. This kid has a higher ceiling than the rest of the QB group in La, what he does can’t be taught. Might be a late bloomer? He definitely left an impression last night.
Reminds me a little of Keytaon Thompson from Landry-Walker years ago.

smoking Brisket tips

This board gave great advice recently for smoking ribs, best ribs I’ve done. Tackling an 8 lb brisket tomorrow on the BKJ.
Plan so far, feel free to tell me where to adjust.
-8 lb trimmed brisket
-coating with mostly kosher and black pepper, letting sit for 30 min to adhere to meat
-250 deg for 4 hrs
-wrapping in butcher paper for 4 more hrs
-when meat hits 200 taking out and sitting in cooler for 2-3 hrs

How am I doing?
tomorrow. I haven’t smoked ribs in a while, never really nailed them. Also first time using the KJ to smoke them.
Any sure fire tips?

I’m getting the procedure done this week, excited about the potential benefits. Mainly having more energy and sleeping better at night. But I do lift weights 3-4 days a week, just curious if anyone saw an increase in lean mass that’s done the hormone replacement.....or any other positive benefits as well

LF and Edelman. I currently have Dak/Ryan as my QBs. LF is my RB2 and Edelman is my WR3. Is Mahomes that much of an upgrade at QB for me to take the risk?

I’ve been playing Waller at the flex, so I could just slide him into the TE slot. Don’t necessarily need RB, but this seems like a good deal for me??
Fully aware that Hill is out at least a month. But what’s the feeling on Damien Williams in KC with Shady in the mix now. Shady looked nice Week 1, starting to think he gets the bulk once he learns the offense

Advice for taking the next step

In April ‘18 I decided to get in shape and lose weight. Here has been my routine.

Weightlifting(3-4x a week)
Back-chest-shoulders only(5 lifts each day) with triceps and biceps for 10 min if I have time.
I do not do legs

I usually walk/run 2-2.5 miles before each session, if not I do cardio at least twice a week.

Diet

Sun-Thurs I stay at 1500-2000 calories(not counting calories burned at gym) I eat at least 100 grams of protein each day, sometimes 150 plus
Fri-Sat I cheat pretty hard...alcohol, sugar, anything. Probably 3-4K calories each day

Results after 14 months
265 to 235
Lost 30 lbs and finally getting a V shape, although my arms aren’t near what they should be. Not much definition by any means, but the shape is there, chest and shoulders are fuller. My legs are thinner, kankles aren’t as bad.....and I feel great.

BUT, I’m ready to get more serious and take another step. I would like to lose another 15-20 lbs.....question is is that why I’m not showing a lot of definition yet? More vascular, etc.
any advice is appreciated, tips and ideas welcome.

Advice for Protein intake

I started lifting and do cardio 3-4x a week last April. I’m down 20 lbs and have added muscle(feel better, look better) The scale has stayed basically the same the last couple months. I attribute some of that to the holidays and cheat weekends along with the added muscle. Typically I stay between 1700-2000 cals 5 days a week. I’m to the point now where I’d like to get a little more serious about building more muscle, but also would like to lose 10-15 more lbs. I’ve probaby hovered around 100-150 grams of protein the last 8 months. Being that I’m 6’ 240 lbs that’s not enough protein. What’s some tips on getting more protein without drinking 3-4 shakes a day, while also keeping the calorie count low? Also, any other diet tips is appreciated.
