However, there's a fat chance that Tee is quitting because of his hearing impairment. It's never stopped him before now. Why all of a sudden is he not able to overcome it?

Yeah, literally everyone I know that actually knows anything about speech and hearing was astonished he'd even been able to play at all... I'm sure you know more than people with multiple Ph.D.s and Master's degrees in the field though.
