I was disapoint when we didn't land him in '13. Good ballplayer.

JRM said recently that he wants to be like AJ Johnson and given the year he's having he may well reach and surpass that goal. I expect JRM will also fill AJ's leadership shoes next year while we break in AJ's replacement.

Many of us knew Jalen Reeves-Maybin would be good/had high expectations since he's a local but I'm not sure anyone knew he'd have this good of a year. They might've wished it for him but they didn't know he'd turn out like this, imo.

JRM is truly a great kid and much like AJ he's already an outstanding teammate. He'll go far, imo.

It kills me to think of what Senquez could have been had he bought in earlier.

Oh well. He's on his way to an All-Americsn season now!

While I'm thinking of them here are a couple of new guys to watch:

Derrell Scott (RB)
- Scott is yet another true freshman. He saw his first action in a game last week against Chattanooga and has since unseated Senior Marlin Lane for the #2 RB spot. He had 9 carries for 42 yards averaging ~4.6 yards per carry (no small feat considering our oline or UTC's surprisingly good DL - their DL has NFL prospects on it and is really the only part of their team that is any good). Scott was graded a 4* by scouts (and ranked in the top 10 among RB recruits). He's elusive with great vision. He's also shown some good wiggle and speed in the game we saw. We still don't know much about him other than his recruiting evals and that coaches had wanted to play him sooner but he will definitely be on the field against OM.

Evan Berry (KO returns and ??) - Yes, Evan is Eric Berry's little bro (Evan's twin Elliot is also on the team). A true freshman (yeah I know big surprise there) Evan took his very first kickoff return 68 yards last week and might've went for more had he had more experience (FYI: that's the best return we've had since Cordarrelle Patterson). Evan is super-fast to say the least. He will be handling kick returns and coaches have said he may be used on BOTH offense and defense.

Iron Berry (as only I call him) is getting reps at RB and may be worked into the defense.
