You just narrowed your 12 year span by 7 years down to 5.

You get my point. Any team since Eli, RB would be the starter except for the teams that Snead, Bo and Masoli were on. Just shows that he isn't awful but Kelley most likely has more physical tools.

There's a 5 year span of Spurlock, Lane, Mackey, and Shaffer.....of course he could have started over them.

in most offenses,,,,but when your offense main running play is a zip pass to a WR screen and that play hinges on how qickly you can get it out there (See the diamond formation early in the game which is a run play LINK / ) a quick release is pretty damn important. If it was 1989 or a team named Alabama,,, I would agree with you. In this offense, QB play is almost everything.

These debates about no running game kinda kill me when we use our horizontal passes as running plays. The one thing that impresses me about Kelly is how quick he can distribute the ball, From the time he recieves the ball till it is gone from his hand can be lightening fast. (Which certainly makes him attractive.....who knows about the rest of it)

We will just have to wait to see. Ryan may be the guy and I will be cheering loudly for him if that is the case....But know, if he can't get that ball out there quickly....its a killer to much of our offense.

I believe the same attributes that would make RB successful in a pro style offense, can make him successful in a spread offense.

Decision making and reading defenses helps get you in the best play.

I believe most of us think that RB and Kelly will be equally adept at reading defenses and making good decisions.

I think some feel that Kelly's ability to create on the run will separate the two, allowing Kelly to make big plays.

Whether or not the big play ability outweighs taking care of the ball is yet to be seen. It could end up being a season long endeavor.

With our defense, RB could be the answer. It depends on how much success he has early and at what point the offense stalls because of the lack of a run threat from the QB position.

Let's see who shines on game day, that's the measuring stick that counts.
