OM fans for not supporting State against BAMA:
Found this on Chuck's board thought it was interesting and kinda true. At times I would like to cheer the Bullies because of them being from the same state but I find myself never really wanting to in the end because of the way those GRINDERS act and conduct themselves (immature children) ... whatever I hope they lose every game while Merlins is their coach he is such a shitty classless person (scientologist 'nuff said)KMADM

A open letter to my Mississippi State Friends, "some of this has been copied and pasted from my friend J____'s page" So, Let me start out by saying, I feel your pain in regards to last nights defeat, but as J_____ states "So I've seen numerous posts from State fans about Ole Miss fans lacking "class" and state unity for not cheering for them yesterday". I know some of you do pull for Ole Miss and show state unity, just like many of us pull for you in many games, but last night was different, before I get into that, let me first thank my STATE friends who have CLASS and understand the meaning of a friendly rivalry between the faithful who have never taken the field, for their very supportive messages in regards to The Rebels (yes Rebels not Black Bears") performance in the past. I am the first to admit we have had a horrendous run over the last 8 years and yes we have been down, but now things have turned the corner and we are rebuilding our program.
Our demise was due to a incompetent, elitist Athletic Director who let his ARROGANCE over shadow his inability to perform his duties. Fortunately he is GONE now, after a uprising from the REBEL NATION and now we are on the right track and showing marked improvement. But none of that stopped Dan Mullen from using every opportunity to bash, criticize and kick "The School up North", while we were down, even when we were not the topic of conversation. His obsession with "The School to the North" is almost perverse and is a liking to Obama bashing Bush for everything. There is ALWAYS room for friendly rivalry and banter, but there is no room for a true campaign of discord, each of us have enough of that with LSU and we all have to intermingle.
Now we get to the subject of why WE DID NOT SHOW SUPPORT FOR "The School to the South" LAST NIGHT and trust me when I say this "We Dislike Alabama and Nick Saben immensely" but.......
The Primary reason is the Arrogance and Self Promoting attitude of your BLOWHARD Coach Dan Mullen. His statements after last years victory showed a lack of class, professionalism and an obvious attempt to cover his shortcomings as a coach. As if, beating Ole Miss the last 3 years has been a major accomplishment....Really? But Just for the record Hugh Freeze has defeated as many SEC West teams, In 41 less opportunities.
But there are other issues
It is very hard to show STATE UNITY, when you do things like the following:
The "This is Our State" campaign, which insults ALL the Universities in "OUR STATE"
YOUR Marketing Department, intentionally placing a the a f-ing Billboard in OXFORD, which not only was CLASSLESS it violated NCAA Rules.
The childish and absurd refusal from your Coach to say our name and only refer us as "that school up north." REALLY!!!!! No other College or NFL Coach in the Country (with the exception of Lane Kiffen) is that disrespectful and ARROGANT.
The hanging of a "We believe 8-0" sign from the Ole Miss' water tower. (Funny prank, but you jinxed yourself)
Etc. etc etc.........
So to answer the question of why we didn't support you or your players....DAN MULLEN. The Barrack Obama of College Coaching.
I am truly happy you went into the Game 7-0, but as I warned y'all last year, be careful of the over inflated hype and ARROGANCE Dan Mullen brings with him. Yes, he's done a good job helping turn around your program, but don't let that mask the ease of your schedule this year, "until last night" . think back to who you beat last year. On paper it all looks good, but in reality it's a "Paper Tiger" , 6-6 last year and the victory over OLE MISS gave you a break even season and we had the worst season in our history.
So in our case an ARROGANT AD brought our Program to its knees and and ARROGANCE will bring you to yours one day.
Good luck against LSU and we'll see you after Thanksgiving "which should be a good game". On a final note lets keep the comments, rivalry and banter FRIENDLY, because at the end of the day were friends and neighbors. HOTTY TODDY , GO TO HELL LSU........and KMADM----KISS MY *** DAN MULLEN

Better response would have been to say nothing.
Post was classless any way you read it. Quite a bit of vulgar language and a random political view oddly placed into it. Tell your relative to just drink a beer next time he feels the urge to attempt to write a diatribe on Mullen/MSU. The type of writing that MSU fans point to and say we are obsessed with them. Leave them be.

While I get where you are coming from I think that you have to also remember that your attitude about ignoring MSU was one of the primary reasons that Ole Miss lost to them over the past 3 years. I actually spoke to Pete Boone and asked him about that as a random fan would and he said that Ole Miss did not want to stoop to their games and when Ole Miss does not fight back then that gives them implied permission to be bold enough to put up billboards, and "Tote" (yes I said "Tote") the egg bowl trophy all over the state rubbing our collective noses in it. When the administration has that attitude, then the coaches get that attitude and when the coaches get that attitude, then the trophy is no longer important to the players. When Billy Brewer was our coach he brought in former players to help underscore the importance of winning this game to his players and made it an all out effort to win against Jackie Sherill. Back when Johnny Vaught was our coach he had scouting reports on MSU every week to better prepare for them because he knew what it means to Ole Miss and her alumni and fans to win that game. We have to do whatever it takes to beat those people (STATE COLLEGE) in every sport and on every playing field. The hard truth of it is that despite your belief that we should just "leave them be" and everything will be ok is BLATANTLY FALSE. A wise person once said "If you want what you have been getting , keep doing what you have been doing," and you see now where that has put us over the past 3 years. No, we should not place them as our only importance but we should make them a top priority because until we start beating MSU on a consistent basis then how do you expect us to beat the upper echleon of the SEC such as LSU and Alabama until we start beating the lower echelon of the SEC MSU and Vanderbilt. We have to proclaim our rightful place as "THE University of Mississippi and as the Flagship since 1848. It is time to fight back and there is no shame in proclaiming that in a forceful way. Often that is the only message that they (STATE COLLEGE) will understand. Hotty Toddy!!
