Exactly, and in a conference as volatile as this statement implies, how can we even BEGIN to develop fair and reasonable win and loss expectations in year #2 of a new coach's reign?

Simple we just hope to go .500 or better.

Exactly. But, in the event that we DON'T get to .500, we don't lose our shite and go all crazy. So long as the games we lost were respectable and didn't involve some highly avoidable dumbassery on our part.

I don't see 7 respectable losses on our schedule though. The only way I lose my shite is if we start having stupid behavioral issues like we did with Nutt, which I'm sure we won't because Freeze doesn't tolerate it, or if we start playing like we dont give a shite (example: 2011 season)

Have you looked at our schedule? If we don't go .500 that is really bad. All we have to do is beat semo, Troy, Missouri, Idaho, and state and one other. That should not be hard.

We won't know which ones are respectable losses until the season is over and we compare records. If Aub and Arky both go 9-3 this season, losing competitive games to both should not hurt Freezes rep at all, agreed?

That's all I'm saying. We can't predict which teams will be respectable and which ones won't. Including OM this early in Freezes career.

MSU and Mizzou are conference games. Nothing can ever be a given there. I noticed you left Vandy off that list. A few years ago, that would have been a penciled in W.

I'm just trying to preach that we all remain sane and objective. If we lose to Semo, Idaho or Troy, fine. I'll come unglued right there with you. Outside of those games, let's not get ahead of ourselves, that's all.

that's a huge if but yeah IF that happens yes they will be respectable losses. I bookmarked this so after the season we can see who was right, if we finish closer to the 5-7/6-6 range I'll admit that you are right. Agree to disagree for now I guess.

Mizzou sucks. Seriously they are horrible. Alright take out state. We have to win two of state, auburn, Arkansas, and vandy and lose every other game.

It is OK to have expectations, just not unrealistic ones. It is not unrealistic to expect to win six games.

Nor is it unrealistic to win 8 games, either.

By no means is it unrealistic to win 8 games, but it is unrealistic to expect to win 8 games.

I'm expecting 8 wins but I'm not going to be like frick the world if we win 6. TBH I won't be happy if we only win 5, which I don't think will happen.

Get to a bowl, again. Beat the dogshit out of our opponent in said bowl, again. Sign a damn strong recruiting class, again.

That's all I can ask for out of Hugh's second year. And by "damn string" class I mean top-15 or so.

Sums up all my ridiculously excessive posts very well.

I'm just trying to caution our fans NOT to get ahead of ourselves with expectations in year #2.

They were plagued with injuries last year, don't take them for granted

I completely agree with you but tbh if the team improves like I think they will I'm gonna go ahead and say it we should be 10-2 with our schedule next year.

He said the same shite in HS to us. He will get y'all going well. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Coach Freeze and I think he will have y'all back to 7-9 win seasons consistently
