99.99999999% chance it was reefer..
More young kids do this than alcohol now. I'd rather my kid do it as opposed to getting drunk personally.

For a legal standpoint, I wonder how much more difficult that type of charge is to contest, as opposed to alcohol?

If no blood or urine was given it's based solely on observation and opinion I'd guess.. I'd fight it. It would weigh on the officers testimony, which is scary. Was he just a little puffy eyed and smelled like weed? It's possible he was driving ok since there's no wreckless / careless citations tagged (that we know of) so who knows.. It's offseason. As long as he takes care of himself from here on out this will be a non issue pretty fast..

True.. Just sayin in a normal setting I would. He just paid the fine and went on with life which is easier than having it loom onto another court date.
I don't think people take the DUI as serious when it ISN'T alcohol though. Even though the actual possession is a big deal..

He got really bad advice sounds like or got none at all. He should have fought and still could if they didn't take his blood. He could argue we was intimidated into a confession. Without blood evidence it would be hard to up hold if he tried to challenge it.
