Clemson with Dabo model is very similar to what Freeze is trying to do.

Dabo also blows close games with crap playcalling, so yeah, similar

Is it crap play calling or execution. If you look at last year:

LSU: that last play was was all execution.
Auburn: take out a fluke injury and the "reaching fumble" is decisive!
Arkansas: wow, no one executed that game!
TCU: across the board failure by players & coaches!

This past season wasn't too bad from a coaching standpoint. Except for the TCU game. It was mostly player error.

But that A&M game in 2013 was the one game I'll never forget Hugh fricking up.

You referring to the run/play option play on first down where Mathers was wide open in the flat but Bo decided to throw to a triple-covered Engram? And then on the next play Ja-Mes was wide open and dropped a pass that hit him in the numbers?

Yeah...totally play-calling issues there.

I don't think so. Maybe I have the wrong game. It was the game where with like 6 minutes left we had the ball on our 5 and we threw the ball three straight times down the side, and burnt like 30 seconds.

Is that the game where Bo was in a great rhythm and he took him out and Brunetti went 3 and out? If so that was a pretty poor decision. Not game changing though.

Is that the game Freeze called for a run on 4th and one on our 35 yard line. And it took JFF one play to win the game?

I think that was it. My memory is hazy on that game. I remember thinking "damn Hugh."

they backed out when the ACC/Notre Dame deal put the Irish on their '15 schedule. They didn't want to have us, USC, and Notre Dame ooc in the same year, which is reasonable. Aside from his losing streak to USC, Dabo has done a pretty damn good job albeit in a much weaker conference that has close proximity to ATL and GA talent. They guy grew up dirt poor and had to live w/ his mom and another student in an apartment while attending Bama.

It was fourth and one on our own 40 yard line. We ran a JB draw out of the shotgun formation. I wasn't mad at the call it's the fact that bo started three yards behind the line of scrimmage

That was 2012 TAMU, not 2013. It was his first year, so I accepted it.

In 2013 he swapped Bo and Barry all night and it worked. Barry actually had the hot hand/feet and I was mad Bo was in when we went 3 and out, but it turned out Barry had hurt his shoulder. That was when we went 3 and out at 6 minutes with the game tied, but it wasn't playcalling.

OT thread.

Wouldn't it be awesome if he joined the coaching staff.

I think he just doesn't want to stay around too long and end up needing a cane to walk.
