Washington seems more of a true TE but Epps is much more versatile as a recieving threat... Put some pounds on him and you're looking at Jimmy Graham V2... They could play the exact same role
And yes that'd piss them enough to go all out for Speaks... We need Speaks to be a wardaddy in the middle... Wide, low center of gravity holding a hole and taking up two blockers... That's the one thing we don't have right now.
I do miss Pena in that aspect

I think Cody definitely would see some time at LB if we get Hampton and Hootie. He is already 220 pounds, a 6'2" 230lb(assuming he bulked up a bit) LB that runs a 4.5 with the ability to cover RBs and use to covering WRs as well would be a great asset.
Not to mention getting even more talent on the field.

This times 100
RN took up 2 linemen pretty much every play, with injuries to CJ and gross battling with the groin all year no one else stepped up to help. I think it was Texas in the 3rd quarter where we had RN moved to the inside next to Gross and he was next to CJ, they were unblockable. Hopefully we'll see a lot of that next year plus a few key additions.

I just hope for a healthy year. We got beat up pretty bad this season. Just one year where the injury bug just doesn't really affect us.
