If tweet fails to load, click here. Sooner Kicker on All-American Pace
It’s time — Oklahoma has never produced an All-American placekicker, but this season may finally change that.
Through the Tennessee game, Tate Sandell has been nearly automatic:
18-for-19 on field goals
13-for-14 from 40 yards or longer
6-for-6 from 50+ yards
Sandell’s range, accuracy, and composure on the biggest stages have been elite. He’s nailed clutch kicks in tight games and high-pressure moments, matching the school record with 18 consecutive made field goals, a mark first set by Gabe Brkic.
With the Sooners heading into the November stretch, Sandell is positioning himself not just for postseason honors — but potentially as the first All-American placekicker in Oklahoma history.
More Sooner field goals are surely on the way.
