OU wins game 1 in a game that was 1-0 til top 7th when we scored 6. Good road experience to be close most of game and pressure the girls. Game 2 in a bit

OU takes game 4. Was back and forth but pulled it out. Landry came on in relief and got job done

OU sweeps the Pigs. Landry comes in to finish them off in the last few innings. She has turned into our steady ace and the rest have some work to do.

Well it was bound to happen. This freshman laden team finally lost after a 28-0 start to season. Good to get this out of way and show them it can happen. Sometimes they get sloppy on bases or hitting (not working their small ball game) and now they realize every hitter or baserunner matters.
We also have more pitching issues this year than many years in past. We have one great pitcher and several good ones, which will cause some issues in 3 game series.

Landry has really turned into our ace. But we’ll need other pitchers to surface to have a chance at 5. Very young team but future years look great.

Wow. We coulda used one of those 3 no hitters. Sloppy pitching game. If we don’t find pitching our big SEC games will be pretty rough. Tenn comes to town this weekend. A win is a win. But damn girls.

Lost in extra innings 5-2. And with our ace pitcher. She is not getting the support she she needs from bats. We did make it close and went to extra innings, but gave up 3 inT8. Sam threw way too many pitches and I hope she can pitch more this series.
Team is young and I have worried about pitching. We may have way more losses than we’re used to and will need other pitchers to step up. We lost so much and this young team will learn from hard knocks. There are more better players and more parity is here. Game has grown a lot.
Ironic we move to SEC right when we have our worst team in years. Its not about the conf as much as its about OU losing a 4 ring class, and are starting over.

Redemption and better pitching from someone not named Sam

Lost rubber match, first series loss at home since 2006. Very young team. Sam pitched good except the 5 run inning. Had 2 outs and 0-2 count and then flood gates opened. My guess is she lost focus and maybe the 140 pitches on Fri caught up.
We lost 2 away series last year so not end of the world.
