I used to care more when players committed to a school and stayed. But nowadays with NIL and all about money I don’t care as much.
It does still matter so I’ll post some things, but not as much as used to.
When players commit its not a long term one for some. Hard to get wrapped up in a player who might be a one and done. If they stay they can become a folk hero like Stutsman for example.
In NFL they at least keep drafted rookies 4 years and have a 5th year option for 1st rounders. In college its 1 year and then give more money (if good) ti keep for another year.

These days you must factor in portal class which is almost as important as recruiting class. Plus portals are experienced players who will mostly contribute.
