Just glancing over the Stats from yesterday's games looks like the plays per game are down with the new time rules the average from last year was 73.5 looking at the box scores the average was in the mid 50's.
I know this is just a couple of games but playing good Defense and running clock could win you a bunch of games with the new clock rules.

Its going go change a ton of things:
1. Betting odds. The GT game each team had 7 possessions total. If one team maxed out scoring thats only 49 points. So lots of bog spread games bear watching like the OU Temple game is 44 or so. Less means typical spreads might be too much?
2. Get behind too much and can’t come back due to less chances
3. Get ahead if a good team and can milk clock faster.
4. Will make turnovers a bigger penalty with less chances per game.
5. Defense will be rewarded so in that regard I think it does help OU this year.
One worry is with more closer games every team will need a great FG kicker. Less chances to possess means you must make more points on those less possessions. I truly hope we find our kicker this year.
