I've come to the realization that Nagy's role is much broader than I originally thought.
Nagy's roles as GM:
Check the bolded parts. Personally, I don't like this. Yes, he was involved with talent evaluation for several NFL teams. A couple decades ago. Yes, he helped manage the Senior Bowl - again, more to do with NFL scouting than H.S. talent.
Seeing as how Brent's rosters are always flawed and incomplete.. is this working out well? We have 7 useable O-Linemen.. is that a good thing? Man, lots of OU fans were all giddy about Nagy being our GM. I thought that was about finances and portal/NIL $ management. Boy was I wrong, and if he and his band of merry talent evaluators are in charge of roster development, they pretty much suck arse at their job.
"Work as a peer partner to the head coach to assemble a team that reflects the program’s identity, values, goals and style of play" - Identity and values !? WTF. Blow the whole thing up.
Nagy's roles as GM:
quote:
• Lead the strategic and operational functions of Oklahoma’s football roster construction and operations.
• Work as a peer partner to the head coach to assemble a team that reflects the program’s identity, values, goals and style of play, and translates the head coach’s vision into actionable roster-building strategies.
• Design and oversee financial strategies to allocate revenue-sharing and NIL assets and opportunities effectively to support roster building and player compensation.
• Oversee a specialized and professionalized scouting department with distinct roles for high school and transfer portal recruiting.
• Lead player evaluation processes, ensuring an objective and accurate talent assessment to ?t the program’s needs.
• Monitor emerging trends and innovations in player evaluation to maintain a competitive edge regarding technology and data collection.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the football program, including budgeting, resource allocation and compliance with NCAA and SEC rules and bylaws, University policy and all other governing bodies and regulations.
• Serve as the liaison between the football program and other university departments (compliance, academics, facilities, etc.).
• Collaborate with university leadership to align football operations with the institution’s athletics department and its academic goals.
• Establish relationships with key stakeholders, including boosters, alumni, and other external partners.

Not ready to jump ship yet but its taking on a lot of water. If we had a good QB this discussion would not be so prevalent.
The injuries (and QB) worry me most

Now Confirmed
Going to speculate he has a hard time with commitment. Was committed to Penn St. flipped to OU. Then 3 weeks after coming to OU said his recruiting is shut down. Dude, it shoulda been shut down the minute you chose OU. Now kicked off team. Likely could not commit to practice.
Also, we need to give a hard look at replacing E Jones. He really hasn't done much here.

Have you noticed the massive drop-off in WR blocking since he arrived? They do not block well. LiaR's WR's blocked exceptionally well. Thanks, Emmett

Is there a map like that for the offenses. Inquiring minds want to know if we are above Kennesaw State.
