Because the church part of the spiritual equation is the method some clever folks used back in the day to wrestle control away from we proles
How so? Jesus didn’t come as a government or military leader as everyone expected. He came for one purpose...to redeem humanity and provide us an opportunity to be reconciled with God. The church is the people who chose the to be part of the body of Christ.
quote:
Real spirituality is to know ones self first and foremost. You don't need a pastor to teach you how to do that, you just need to learn to quiet your mind.
Everyone has a God, it’s either ourselves or something else. I know myself and can’t even get hair to grow on my bald head let alone get myself from earth to heaven so not sure how much that helps ultimately
quote:.
But, since we do still have church, it is mostly used as a social affair near as I can tell.
Fellowship is an important part but not the primary purpose.
quote:
ETA: It was always the church that perverted the doctrine. From the very begining. They wouldn't do such a thing? Look at what's going on with the Catholic Church these days. Those folks are the founders of Christianity.
Catholicism and Christianity historically get lumped together but generally speaking the doctrines don’t really line up. Faith based vs work based. Jesus was the founder of Christianity not the Catholic Church.
quote:
But, even Jesus himself was trying to pass on Eastern philosophy to the people of Judea. The lesson about rendering unto Cesar that which is his is him teaching the folks to embrace suffering in this world for the sake of something better later.
Keep it in context. Jesus was being questioned how to respond to authorities, obey laws, pay taxes, etc. Submit to authorities as long as it doesn’t disobey God, the untimate authority. Had nothing to do with embracing suffering.
quote:
That's Buddhism. Most likely, from the age of 12 til whenever he came back (32?) he was off in the East studying in monasteries with monks and yogis. And when he tells people that the kindgom of heaven lies within and through him, he's saying through YOU. Yourself.
Might be what Buddha said but not Jesus. You can dig up the bones of one of the two and not the other. One is God and one is just a man.

I'm not gonna break your entire post down and try and debate the various points, but I did want to address a couple of things.
It may surprise you to know that Jesus is far from the only person reported to have transcended this plane of existence. In the Eastern traditions LOADS of people have done it. We call them ascended masters. I believe Jesus was one such person.
Also, the account of the three wise men describes what happens when monks go out in search of the new Dalai Lama. The "gifts" are one of the tests the monks perform to see if the baby is the reincarnation of the Dalai Lama. They bring the baby trinkets the Lama was fond of in his past life. The Lama also leaves clues as to where he will reincarnate next, so the monks will travel the whole world in search of him. Guided by signs.
We will most likely disagree on this, and that's fine with me. It's one of the most beautiful aspects of this reality. Multiple truths can be valid.

The greatest and most well guarded secret in this world is that death is an illusion.
All those people that were building pyramids all over the world? They were literally building a machine that would allow people to transcend this plane of existence, precisely as Jesus was reported to have done. It is no coincidence he was "buried in a cave" for three days because this precisely is the same ritual the pharoahs of Egypt would perform inside the pyramids. It is a death rite. You are literally killed and brought back to life. Because only then can a person truly understand what it means to have died. And from that point forward can live their life as a citizen of both worlds. Here and the hereafter. And only then, upon the person's departure from this world, will they transcend it entirely.

Have other deities loved you so much that they would humble themselves to become a man, to keep and to fulfill the law (the rules and regulations as you say) and to make the ultimate sacrifice for all of the sins of the world, past present and future, for all that believe in Him, so that you wouldn't have too?

Not really.

Why are church people forgiven their sins every Monday-Saturday?
And relinquish their sins on Sunday?
Maybe stop being hypocritical during the week, and the whole process would stop.
Ever thought about that?
Monday-Saturday is not that long.
Especially when all things are "wiped clean" on the Sabbath.
Not how that works. Once your sins are forgiven, all of them are forgiven past, present, future.

By doing whatever you want to do six days out of a week, and then magically becoming squeaky clean on Sunday?
That's not going to work if you are going to shove your beliefs down my throat whenever you feel religion convicting you.
The term "hypocrite" comes to mind.
You seem to be under the impression that the Christian church is for squeaky clean people. Sorry to burst your bubble but it isnt. Just look at the Bible and you will find flawed men and women, no perfect ones except Jesus. David, a man after God's own heart(God's words) fell to temptation and committed adultery with a married woman, then had that woman's husband essentially murdered.
