Actually completely agree with you. It’s almost like Hollywood is run by a specific and unique group of people with interests and tastes radically different than the rest of the country and they try to manipulate and subvert us in to thinking what they want.

Oh I wasnt. HBO, Cinemax otherwise known by another name. Got better after we got a dvd player, harder to wear the disc down at certain parts and you could skip chapters
Starship troopers was always worth putting in for one scene that I felt the director shot very well

Parents had the big satellite. You look up in a book what the channels were. G-8, HBO. F-3, Showtime. Whatever. Wait for the big behemoth to turn. It was only changeable in the living room, but wired that any other tv in the house could watch whatever feed was on that tv. So all I had to do was wait for them to go to sleep, change the satellite, turn that tv off and head to my room. Then even if they woke up I wasn't busted. Thursday night HBO. Red Shoe Diaries on Showtime

Mine used to have one of the big satellite dishes, called it the alien finder. Then they got fancy and switch to dish network and put a passcode lock on the r rated movies and worse. My dad being the good guy he was got tired of punching the code in for me so he just told me it.
We never had the connection running to any tvs except the one in the living room so I'd have to be ready to change the channel quick, still seemed worth the risk

I remember those. Went to a wedding in Muncie in the 90s. Cousins were soy farmers before it was a meme. They had a massive dish outside the farm house and a crazy remote to adjust it.
