You're a freshman with credits transferred from a different school

for some reason that reminds me of the kid I met my freshman year in college on my dorm floor.
Diehard Clemson fan from SC and didn't get in so went to UofSC.
Still to this day we talk shite back and forth about sports.
And then at the end of it "you didn't get into Clemson"
he usually shuts up.

Being where Im from, theres always banter about UK vs IU. During the 2011-12 season, we lost to IU in the regular season. Alotta trash was talked, then after we won the tournament (and beat IU in it) there was pure silence. And now, I like to give the Notre Dame fans crap about losing to Clemson when we have a winning record against them anytime they try to talk football

Notre Dame fans
I know I've probably asked you this before.
There a lot of those in Indiana?
I feel like it's not really an "Indiana school"
I work with a handful of grads (none from Indiana) and the whole Irish Catholic thing plus them playing a game up here yearly probably makes it really NYCs team.

I met a handful while I was up there, but not nearly as many as Purdue or IU. Seemed like I met as many people who claimed Butler or Ball State as I did Notre Dame fans.
Most of them didn't seem to care much about college sports anyway. It was all about the Colts and the Pacers.

Charlotte is extremely fairweather with that.
When the Panthers are good, a lotta talk, fans involved.
When they stink it's heavy CFB.
Hornets are meh.

It was the opposite in Indiana. They supported their pro teams through thick and thin, but I was told unless IU gets good at basketball again or Notre Dame has a good football season that college sports don't get much talk.

Most Hoosiers don't go to Notre Dame, but people are still casual fans.
Most have their favorite between purdue and IU, and then they'll cheer for other Indiana schools. That's why when butler made a deep tournament run once or twice everyone put a butler sticker on their car. Home team deal.

Yeah, they don't like to talk much trash with college sports unless one of the schools is doing good in something (be it Notre Dame, IU, or even Butler). There are die hard IU, Purdue, and Notre Dame fans that will talk college sports, just not a lot of them.

The handful of people I met that were actual college fans would always get real excited when they found out I'm a fan of an SEC team because there were so few other knowledgeable college fans up there to talk to.
I actually saw a random guy with an Auburn hat on in a Menard's once so I walked up and said "War Eagle." He looked so shocked that he just kind of stared at me like I was crazy for a solid 10-15 before he asked if he had heard me right
