I think PW said he gave you my Twitter. You can hit me up on there. I may not answer immediately, but I'll get back to you. Seriously, I relapsed so many times. You just gotta learn from it and realize every day is a new day. You can do it. Trust me, if I can do it ANYONE can do it.

One blur I don't want to remember, about 5 half years ago I had a work thing right outside New York City, spent the week in New Jersey close to the city. But I wanted to drive, not fly, because I love to see the world.

I was gulping down tall boys in a Razorback game large cup and doing no less than 80 mph at hardly any point, WHILE i WAS DRIVING THE ENTIRE WAY. Lucky I lived, and didn't kill someone.

that was just beer - literally flying my arse in a car through the Appalachian Mountains drunk as fricking John Belushi in Animal House.

ETA: I will never even come close to that again. Once I'm home nowdays, the keys to my truck are an afterthought. I would never drive to a corner market now, even on a half glass of wine.

I can tell. I've sworn off whiskey in college, then in my late 20's, and yada yada

this time needs to be the last time

To teamjackson, my two cents is not believing you will ever NOT be an alcoholic. We always will be. Whatever that neurological hell is you feel when you're in bed and trying to sleep it off, they say drink the crap out of water and I do, right there in bed, but then THAT makes it feel worse.

Did some beet juice last night and I think that helped. I've heard beet juice helps. And/or pomegranate, which tastes a lot better.

Also something to think about, if you're drinking too much, you're not eating enough healthy food because I guess it's suppresses your appetite.

I have a buddy at church who's been around in life, and tells me I need to get medical pot. Funny I know, my church buddy telling me to get medical pot. I will ask my doctor about that in a bout two months or whatever.

My brother-in-law is just past his six month sobriety point. He was into everything, booze, drugs, skanky women. He was in very bad shape, mentally, physically, and most important of all, spiritually. He lost everything. Wife, kids, cushy gov't job, his parents sold their house to help him pay for attorneys and rehab and have spent most of their savings (but that's another issue altogether).

But I had the privilege of baptizing him into the Lord a few months ago. He still has bad days, and he's going to have to live with what he's done to his family, but he's doing the best he can.

damn dude

Hairy Big 1 and I are on here making butthole jokes and y'all just got real.

I'm sorry for what you're having to go through, and I understand how hard it is.

Sometimes we all feel like we're just hanging on in quiet desperation, especially as men.

But you're a good person for doing what's right. One day it will be really, really hard. And you'll probably be angry too. And that's okay.

And one day you'll look back and realize that this time has passed, and you'll know that you did the right things.

And one day you'll see your baby brother again, and he won't have any pain, and none of this worry and fear (or any of this) will even matter any more.

Except that cussing at paperwasp part — I'm still pissed about that.

wow man, loss for words. I'm so sorry. Parents selling their house for all that too.

One thing people need to realize. Prosecuting attorney are NOT on your side. AND NEITHER ARE DEFENSE ATTORNIES.

Defense attorneys just want your money, and they WANT you to keep screwing up, more business for them.

I've had one think my whole life, a DWI, and my attorney was the biggest scumbag I'd ever met on the planet.

The attorney's fees were for a divorce/custody lawyer. Before he was sober, his ex got him to sign off on a ridiculous divorce settlement where he had to pay $3200/month child support. After getting his mind right, he tried a couple of times to get the amount reduced. None worked. A good bit of the money they got for the house also went to paying back child support. But since he was still in rehab, he just got behind on payments again.

Once he started working again, his new job didn't pay near what his old one did and he couldn't keep up. His ex wife had him over a barrel. So he signed the rights to his children away.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorn is the truthiest truth.

I know, most of the time I think it's the courts who take it out on the guy, but the girl I'm talking to right now, we've reconnected, and I've known for over 35 years. She's going through hell from her ex husband (who I've also known for over 35 years) and he's turned her daughters against her.

And he was the one always cheating, and I've got that from reliable sources, including members of my family who I trust.

She doesn't want to tell me the stories yet, and I'm not pressuring her.

She knows my drinking is not in a good place, and she still accepts me for being the dumbass that I am.

This board is our oasis of celebration, curiosity, irrational anger, immaturity, titties, GIFs, GIFs of titties, and the occasional outburst of hardcore man-feelings in seemingly otherwise perverse and disgusting TigerLunatik threads.

The fact that you're still here hanging out with us at this point means you're already included.
