School violence in Michigan

I live in southeastern Michigan. It's a small town a little under 2 hours from Oxford, MI where the last shooting took place.
Today, there was a threat placed by a teen directed at my son's middle school. At first they couldn't substantiate it, but they were able to this afternoon. 14 year old made threats through Snapchat posing with an airsoft gun. He's been picked up and will he charged.
Even though it turned out to be not a true threat, it is very concerning that that BS is so close to home.
