It would be a great fight. As creative and damn near perfect as Loma is he doesn't have the pop Manny had. Manny had dynamite and threw from everywhere. I think Loma would probably win a decision. If they fought old school with no round limits I'd take Manny.

I haven't watched enough of him to be able to say, but as a casual fan I obviously really liked Pacquiao like everybody else. Russian guys though, oof. Those guys can fight.

In hindsight we should have seen the Russian dominance in boxing coming a long way off. I remember the first and second wave of Russian (Ukrainian and so on) boxers going pro and they had horrible technique in the ring. That stiff, robotic, Soviet style that seemed designed to leave the boxer wide open.

And yet they won world championships left and right. Mostly, I will grant you, through sheer physical supremacy and grit.

Now we are seeing Russian fighters who've spent their entire career training in a Western style with the best minds in boxing behind them and they are chewing people up.
