We had more freedom as kids than kids do now. We played outside and we pretty much stayed away for hours at a time until it got dark. No video games, no internet and not much TV for kids.
Babysitter was for making food, breaking up fights and being able to take someone to the emergency room if needed.
We played hide and go seek in order to get away from the other kids etc.
I guess modern kids don't get the same kind of social interactions with other kids and that makes it tough to comprehend.

I'm fuggin with ya 3downy, I'm glad you were of similar age. The way you painted that picture made it seem a teenage girl was taking advantage of the kids she was babysitting.

I was in the 2nd grade. She was a little older, and no not really. She touched mine, I touched hers and that was about the extent either of us knew.
We had freedom, but we didn't know about things. We were both completely clueless.
I don't know what kind of weird shite some people here are thinking.
