Yes it was. I cooked on a small portable grill whatever I could find to grill to eat.
We stayed in one room of the house, and used old coffee cans with candles to create heat. We had 2 generators running to keep the fridge and freezer running, and went to the local Rec center to shower.

Couldn't even begin to look for work till it was over, couldn't update my resume or anything.

My Dad was dead by the time these happened. He worked for APL. WHen an ice storm came we didn't see him for a week or two but santa was good that year (or actually the next CHristmas).

What slimy D-bag lays people off on Valentine's Day? Christmas or Thanksgiving would have been worse, I will grant you, but Happy Valentine's Day you are unemployed is sleazy AF.

The 2009 ice storm rocked my world in SWMo.

Out of power for three weeks. Went back to school with no power for a week and a half. Lol
