I feel dumb for asking this but idk what to do at this point. Have had trouble every year getting the thing to light but i I know it will. I have all the valves turned the correct way and hit the striker around a dozen times while pressing in on the knob that is turned to the pilot position

Any ideas?

On my dad's wall unit. Every year for the first light. I get a flexible drink straw put it over the pilot with gas off and blow the dust out. It never lights till I do this dust seems to get in the pilot over summer.

Also use canned air that you use on your computer.
