That whole UT thing for Memphis football players ... that's a fairly recent phenomenon. Butch is doing that and he'll probably regret it. Nothing good has come out of Memphis since the 50s.
Germantown sends all of theirs to Notre Dame.
Bama used to cherry pick the rest and toss the leftovers to Arkansas, Ole Miss and occasionally MSU. I think Albert Means probably broke Bama of actively recruiting Memphis hard for obvious reasons and eventually it will catch-up to Butch as well.
I remember when Buzz Leverette was telling me about how Memphis recruiting works when we were recruiting Courtney ... Memphis recruits are bad news and have been for a few decades now.
