There are too many drugs today. I remember the good old days when we had weed, cocaine, heroin, and LSD. Now you need a chemistry degree just to figure out what illicit substance you are taking.

DMT is produced in our bodies though

It's been around forever. It's what's in Ayahuasca tea

It can be extracted from a wide variety of plants. Also, as Pigfeet said, it's produced by our bodies and is thought to be what produces our dreams.
To answer the question, no, I haven't tried it yet. I will eventually, but it is something I need to think on to determine when is best to give it a go. It is supposed to be far more potent than any other drug of its type out there. Most people who use it claim communion with God. Or contact with extraterrestrials. Or with elemental spirits.
It's odd that you should bring this to the board today because just earlier I was considering writing what I know about these types of drugs and how they are responsible for all civilization as we know it.
ETA: LSD has been around forever as well, but we only recently began synthesizing it and putting it on paper in liquid form.
It used to be known as "witch's bread" and was made by baking a bread made from moldy rye grass.
It's the fungus that produces the psychedelic effects, similar to psylisilbin. (Or however you spell that)

Only things I really know about it are:
Its produced by the brain when dreaming and during death.
Many claim to see similar stuff, like "clock work elves"
I wouldn't take it as I assume its the equivalent of over loading the part of your brain that uses the stuff

My personal opinion is that there shouldn't be anything wrong with using it in moderation. These drugs tweak our perception of reality and often offer PROFOUND insights for those taking them.
On the subject of it overloading the brain, I highly doubt that as well since all of us have consumed far too much flouride through our tap water and our brains don't produce these chemicals as they should as a consequence.
If a person were interested in fixing this problem, they may find "embryonic breathing" helpful.
Psychiatrists are only now begining to understand the benefits of using these drugs. Like cannabis, our bodies have evolved to use these substances as a medicine. The psychedelic drugs in particular seem to be far better than modern pharmaceuticals when it comes to treating a wide variety of mental illness.

Stelazine and Chlorpromazine wave goodbye.

I don't understand what you're trying to say here. Are you trying to say these drugs work better than, say, psylocibin, which is non habit forming, has no known adverse side effects at all, and can "cure" depression for up to six months with a single dose?
If so, it's a damn miracle.

How can we evolve to use psychedelic drugs ?

The opioid receptors are membrane proteins of the Type A or rhodopsin-like GPCRs that mediate the analgesic effects of opioid agents like morphine. Opioid receptors also enable substance-abuse with drugs like heroin. The natural ligands for opioid receptors are endogenous opioid peptides; most notably beta-endorphin, met- and leu-enkephalin and dynorphin. The role of endogenous opioid receptors in physiological processes is vast; besides an obvious role in decreasing nociceptive transmission, nearly any Pubmed search with the Boolean parameters of ‘any physiological process and opioid’ brings up pages of references. This is true for terms like reproduction, growth, development, respiration, blood pressure, renal function, thermoregulation, endocrinology, seizures, stress, immunology, pregnancy and aging. It is also true when considering behaviors using the terms like eating, drinking, sex, learning, memory, locomotion and driving.

There is also the fact that the compound is produced by our brains themselves. Our bodies have clearly evolved to use the chemical.

It should be considered a crime that these drugs are given the strictest classification by the federal government. Same with cannabis. These things aren't "drugs" in the sense that people think of drugs. Like meth or some shite like that.
They are beneficial medicines
