Libertarians are poisoned since RP is no longer the champion of the movement. Now they are all like:

This is why I told Lew "let's fight". This is what libertarians do. Always at each others throats.

This is usually due to not recognizing the different levels of government, federal, state and local.

Some people think libertarian means you are as such at all levels, and that's not the case at all. I'm a libertarian at the federal level, but I want local fire, police etc. And I want a strong national defense, an honest monetary system and so forth at the federal level. Domestic issues outside civil rights should not exist on the federal level, it's terrible. The state and local should handle domestic issues.

Each level of government has it's purpose. And then I'll see people apply this same concept at all levels, and it's kind of dumb.

Because people should be free to do other things as they want, and that includes more government. As long as it's voluntary.

RP was the libertarian candidate back in 1988. He was in the GOP primary in 2008/12 and I thought one of the biggest errors of the LP was not to support him. I've pretty much not been part of the "party" since 2008.

Their candidate this year was absolute dogshit. Not even worthy of a protest vote. True conservatives, not neocons or social conservatives, are generally aligned with libertarians at the federal level. But the uniparty constantly hijacks the party, and between the neocons and the social conservatives, conservatives are constantly assed out.

Probably a higher chance of changing the GOP than making the LP relevant.

Anyway, I'll shut up now because I could rant all day.
