Its been a rough week. My mom has fought covid for the past 10 days and she is fine.

I want to mention the special student of mine. I saw her last week. She opted for online classes. I saw this beautiful person who was one of my favorites in all my years of teaching. I told her she needed to stay at school with me. She said she got in trouble too much. I said will you still visit me and she said yes.

She was of mixed race with the prettiest thick hair. Her personality was to be admired. She is a funny smart beautiful person. Dear Gor, she loved little Ceasars crazy bread. She had a more rednecky accent than me. I still remember her saying my name with all the syllables, and some of those syllables weren't in my name.

We had a close relationship. I always told her she would be on TV and famous because she was too special. I called her jake which was close to her real name but a boys obviously. She would call me by my first name, and we would riff back and forth.

Her junior yr I would try to consol her if she was upset. She still was a magnificent and beautiful lady. I would fight for her honor today.

Two days ago.... she took her life. I am in shambles. Another teacher posted a Facebook post that showed a day or two days before she left a world that needed her.

The post indicated she had been raped and for the life of me I cant tell if it was by a student or an older person. I'm leaning to the latter. She apparently had people laugh at her for her statement.

The next day she was gone....

This isn't the normal place for this stuff, but love kids and help them. I'll always feel bad that I saw her last week and wasn't able to help her.

Sucks for sure. People are battling demons we never know about sometimes.

Are you a female? Just asking

I’m so sorry. My brother took his own life years ago, and it’s something that always leaves you wondering what could have been. I hope you find peace.

One never knows what's going on in another person's mind. I'm sorry for your loss and she will always have those close to her wondering why she did it.

A very astute comment.

Those close will have to release guilt scenarios to enjoy a happy life. Make her proud !
