My god those bars look awesome.
That's Top of the Rock, just a little slice of Big Cedar Lodge. Owned by Johnny Morris, the $4.5 billion dollar owner of Bass Pro.
It's no more than 10 - 15 minutes south of the Hilton on the Promenade.
The Hilton is located on Hwy 65. You take Hwy 65 South to Hwy 86. Make a right (West) on 86 and then IMMMEDIATELY turn right where you see the sign "Top of the Rock".
Park at the Guest Center and take a free shuttle to the Top of the Rock complex. Otherwise you'll pay a $10 valet fee at the door. Will save you money for an extra drink.
I suggest you eat at Arnie's Barn, hit some golf balls on the championship driving range - 50 balls for $15 (image below), and then finish your evening at the Buffalo Bar and Wine Cellar.
Trust me here...I can't stress this enough...there isn't a place in the United States like Top of the Rock. It took Johnny Morris 8 years to build.
You must see it for yourself. Big Cedar is one extra mile beyond Top of the Rock on 86. If you have time, drive to Big Cedar as well and simply view the campus.

Top of the Rock is where the Classic Tour will be held for the next 5 years.
This year was the first year.
When Lee Trevino first saw Top of the Rock, he said that it was the prettiest golf course he has ever seen. He said something like, "If there is a golf course in Heaven, it looks like Top of the Rock."
The coolest thing is that it's open to the public.
Johnny Morris is Southwest Missouri's equivalent of the Waltons in Arkansas.

Here are two images of the driving range (yes, this is just the driving rang) located just outside of Arnie's Barn and the Buffalo Bar. In fact, this is the view you have while eating dinner or drinking wine or whiskey.
Go in the early evening just before sunset.
Here is a distant view of Arnie's Barn:

Make sure to ask the Buffalo Bar/Osage Restaurant employees to show you the catacombs that will lead you to the wine cellar. It's hard to find but the wine cellar is the best part of Top of the Rock. It's Top of the Rock's hidden secret.
Also, make sure to remember that the Buffalo Bar/Osage Restaurant doesn't open until 5 pm. Arnie's Barn is open well before that, so perhaps you could arrive just before 5 pm to eat at Arnie's and then head over to the Buffalo Bar.
When you reach the wine cellar in the catacombs, make sure you walk out of the wine cellar to the infinity pool to view the sunset which will occur over Table Rock Lake.
This entire place was designed for maximum effect and it's meant to be explored like an aztec temple, so I suggest that you experience it while you're here.
The crazy thing is that while Top of the Rock will certainly amaze you, a future trip to Big Cedar Lodge will be the icing on the cake which will showcase the remarkable beauty of southwest Missouri.
Enjoy and let us know if it was worth the time.

Well crap. This day is absolutely horrible weather wise. Should I save that experience for my next trip up? It would suck not to get to see the views. Just made it to the Hilton.

You'll still see the views. It just won't be sunny. Dude, just go to Top of the Rock already even if it is just to have a few drinks at the Buffalo Bar and Wine Cellar.
Please don't disappoint me. I mean, you're only 10 minutes north of the place.

go to Top of the Rock, have a few drinks, explore the place, and then head back to The Landing (Hilton) and visit the bars and watch water and fire show to end the night.
Boom! Perfect itinerary for one evening.

Before you leave Branson, it's worth driving down old hwy 76 just to see the awesome cheesiness of the main drag of Branson.
Branson is an awesome place if you just stay off Hwy 76 which is where most of the tourist go.
Table Rock Lake is the true attaction of that area. That's why Brad Pitt, Barry Williams (ie. Greg Brady), and several other stars have vacation homes on Table Rock Lake.
The place is beautiful.

Paying my tab here and heading to top of the rock after a couple more beers. The people are just so nice here.

Missouri does "friendly" and "southern hospitality" as well as any place I've been. I miss home.
