I just hope he knows how to slide and/or just run out of bounds.

This.

Mauk's first play was a third and long that he picked up with his feet. That may have been the most critical play of the game momentum wise and the kid stepped up and delivered.

He looked a little wide-eyed a couple of times but he also threw a nice back shoulder fade (under thrown?) to DGB and then picked up five more with his feet, setting up Josey's TD run.

Say what you want about this guy, but there are a lot of back ups that probably would have crumbled in that situation. He isn't Franklin but he appears to be gutsy and a winner!

Bring on the Gators!

Personally to me if you were gonna say Mauk is making his first start which game does he have the best chance to win against a ranked team, I would say this game vs Florida. I know they have a good defense but I really feel we may only need to have 3 or 4 TDs to win this game as opposed to needing to score 30 or 40.

That makes sense. If there is a game that deserves the shootout tag, USC is it. We may need to score 40 plus in that one. FLA we may only need 24, but I may end up having us scoring 34 in my prediction, not sure yet.

I think our running game which is the best I have ever seen it gives us our best chance. And I believe Mauk will have good chemistry with DGB to allow him to make some throws.

UF's defense is nasty. I doubt we break 30, but we'll probably only need 20 to win. Honestly, I think this game is easier than UGA, because UF's offense is just this side of laughable.

Bottom line for Mauk is take care of the ball. No fumbles and no interceptions. If he can do that, I think the rest takes care of itself. Seems like the old turnovers cliché is worn out, but I really think it's fitting here.
