A former Rutgers point guard commit Shane Rector, recommits to Missouri. Rector played high school ball in New York with St. Raymond's from the Bronx. It would be a great school to develop ties with. St. Raymond's and Christ The King are usually alternating teams from New York that play in the Bass Pro Tournament in Springfield every January. Next year's tournament is loaded with national talent. Coach Haith and Fuller need to be their to develop some relationships with some of the younger talent on these teams.

So are these new guards going to be capable of bringing the ball up against pressure? That was a big worry last year and a reason it was hard to bench PP. You just gotta have more than one ball handler.

Not holding my breath as freshmen. Maybe down the road but I don't think you can go into the season expecting it. College game is just played at a different speed. Of course, we can all be pleasantly surprised by one or more of them.

Rector's profile lists him as having outstanding handles, good shooting and strength, and developing passing and rebounding skills.

As for Clark, his profile says that he is a tough and competitive lead guard that possesses a great motor. He is a good leader and posses a very good basketball IQ. He attacks on both ends of the floor and is an extension of the coach on the floor.

I think that both are capable of being very good point guards but, Clarkson might have to be the point until these two both get acclimated to the college game. At least we will have a few cupcakes early on to get them some playing time.
