Hope you guys are having a great day!

It's been reported on a couple of Razorback sites that Barry Odom is going to be hired as our new Defensive Coordinator. I know he is a lifelong Tiger so I wanted to hear your thoughts on him. How was he while at Mizzou, how is he as a recruiter and do you know anything on his defensive philosophies?

Thanks and I appreciate any info you guys can give!

I know that people really liked him. I've met him a few times, very nice guy. Has a young family. He's talented, and wanted to move up the coaching ladder - that's why he left, pinkel doesn't have much turnover in staff, so he's have had to wait a while for an opportunity.

When he left for Memphis, people hated to see him go but knew he was ready. He is very highly thought of. He came up through pinkel's system, so I would expect some similarity in philosophy. Don't know a thing about his recruiting, but he's great guy so I'd expect him to interact well with recruits.

Like him but don't think out DB's ever turned and looked for the ball under him either.

Thanks for the info! It doesn't look like its a done deal yet but hopefully we'll hear something soon.

He would only be coaching safeties here if he choose to be hands on so that wouldn't be too big an issue I don't think. Our safeties can't get any worse than this past year.
