I meant it would have been good for 1st year in the SEC. 3-4 years from now not so much.

I could agree with this. But, we only won 5. There are 3 that should have been wins - Vandy, Florida and Syracuse. But should haves don't cut it.
I'm willing to give Pinkel a year to straighten things out - if he's willing to make some changes to coaches and schemes. The spread can work, I believe - but it needs power running in the SEC. If he persists with the "no changes, our way works" philosophy, I'm open to a change and Kirby Smart would be my choice.

I agree, look at A&M

Exactly - but you need a strong OL and a power run option to use. We don't have that right now.

I'm still in the Pinkel camp on giving him another year to right the ship, but if his attitude is no coaching staff changes, then screw him. Let him go and let's move on.
My first choice is Strong if we can get him.

I want to challenge this. I would have been happy, but not to the point that I thought we didn't need to improve. I think we are at a point, as a program, where 8 wins is should no longer be considered "really" good.
I think both thoughts can co-exist. I think 8 wins would have been really good. But I also would still believe that improvements have to be made. Realistically, we were playing 11 new opponents, 12 really with the new HC at A&M, in a much tougher conference. So I can see where saying one is not to the exclusion of the other.
