I hear ya.

I have actually been contemplating buying a house of my own for the past year and a half or so but the closer it gets, the more I get scared of being under that much debt for the next 15-30 years.

I have a good job but the part that scares me is if I have to move eventually, what if I can't sell the house I already own? Trying to pay rent in two different places could really cause some big time problems.

Man I hear ya. I worked in Meridian from 2008 - 2011 and rented the whole time because I DID NOT WANT TO LIVE IN MERIDIAN.. Came close to offering on a few houses, just couldn't do it. SO glad I didn't now too. Even though the market there has decent turnover I can still say I never owned a house or paid taxes in Lolauderdale Co..

Thankfully, I am not here long term.

If I bought a house somewhere, it would probably be on the coast where I am from. Still the thought of debt makes me cringe. I sort of have a problem though because I don't like debt of any kind.

ETA: What kind of work (industry) do you do if you don't mind my asking?

So you have a pretty clear picture of where you will be for the foreseeable (Jackson metro area) future or no?

For the time being, with the job that I have, I could be anywhere this time next year. That is what makes me most leery about becoming a homeowner.

I've thought seriously about buying something small, such as a condo, in Starkville and just renting where ever my job takes me.

I'm locked inside the State until I turn 45, and as of late probably 75% of any upper mobility will be here. I.like the condo idea. Don't be afraid to hurt any feelings in Stark with your offers if you do that route.. You may surprise yourself.

UPDATED Babe Image Rules: Images should not contain the following:

Nudity or strategically covered nudity
Sheer or see-through clothing
Lewd or provocative poses
Sexually explicit acts
Close-ups of breasts, buttocks, or crotches

Also, threads that contain acceptable babe images should have "NSFW"
(Not Safe For Work) in the title.

Do not post copyrighted images or images that are not part of the public domain.

Do not link to acceptable images that originate from porn sites or sites that contain adult content. We suggest you use an image hosting site to host your image before posting them here.

Your posting privileges will be suspended if you fail to follow these simple rules. Thanks for your cooperation.

***and yardbird is cracking down on the babe threads on the SECr and school boards. You had bare butts and hand bras and unclothed women with just bed sheets and transparent bra.

However, feel free to post the doggy style practice again.

Sounds like a pretty sweet set up if you like Mississippi.

Have you ever looked into any of the condos in Stark? There seem to be some good deals around. The ones behind Harvey's are fricking expensive though.

I am sort of a control freak, and I like to have everything planned out in concrete and I'm learning more as I go that life doesn't always have the same plans, unfortunately.

I've been in on the construction and some remodels in a good bit of them. If you decide to go that route let me know. I have a good friend who I was in business with that is pretty plugged in with everything residential development-wise over there.

Leave it to Cdawg to turn this into an IM thread..

I'm definitely looking around. I threw the idea around pretty seriously in the spring and looked into a few places before some health issues arose with my dad. Any help would be much appreciated.
