Unless they really gave CK a grace period and he heads to UCLA.

I dont believe that for a minute. Why sign a contract at all if youre going to allow the guy to keep looking around?

It's also sticking out to me that UCLA hasnt announced anything yet, yes UF said they would wait for the season to end so the players could focus ect but i believe UCLA wouldnt care about that. Its also making me wonder why Chip is only allowing 2 suitors? If youre a free agent HC with lots of interest, wouldnt you welcome all bids?

''Maybe Chip's agent was talking to UCLA beforehand''.

It's possible, but there were no reports whatsoever that they had been in contact. If this is true, why didn't they fire Mora weeks ago, get the jump?

I'll tell you why: They have no chance. That's why A&M, a superior school to UCLA in every way outside of Academics isn't being talked about but UCLA is.

They waited too long, because Florida is lightyears ahead of any school.

I have no idea about contracts (and am not claiming to), which is why I think I'm a better source than most because -- we will never know what's actually in the contracts, we don't know what the 49ers have with Kelly.

What I can tell you:

The UCLA timeline makes no sense, and hasn't made sense since the very first day.

Bellotti (Chip Kelly's mentor) said Florida was by far a better job -- and if you think he and Kelly aren't talking, you're wrong.

Chip Kelly reportedly talked with Urban Meyer about the Florida job -- and that we went to go meet with him means that things were positive for the most part. I've also heard multiple sources say ''if Chip Kelly comes to Florida, Urban deserves the assist''.

Chip Kelly has publicly spoken about the Florida job -- so we have him talking on camera, and we have our lawyers, president and AD flying to NH.

UCLA has rumors that have been deleted.

Chip Kelly's coming to Florida, unless something outrageous happens.

Florida has been talking and continues to talk to Chip Kelly a lot (per Insiders and other sources) and they're still very confident. It's not the same thing, either.

UCLA insider Biggins (he's a recruiting expert) was exposed as having Pierson as his source, which was completely wrong (per other UCLA insiders) regarding just about everything.

If I hear anything else I'll bring it here so you guys don't have to read through everything.

I was worried about A&M, but they don't even seem remotely interested beyond feelers which makes me wonder if the SEC was like ''don't even try, it's already signed over there''. A&M is way, way, way better than UCLA job-wise.

A&M is a sleeping giant imo, with the right hire they could challenge in the west. So yeah, if they arent even bothering to talk to Kelly that says something

I have the utmost confidence that they talked to the SEC to ask ''hey, how done is this?'' and the SEC told them ''look for someone else''.

They're pretty confident in Jimbo, apparently Fisher isn't happy at all at FSU and I think it shows.

Even per A&M Insider boards they aren't even looking at Chip Kelly.

A&M not going for Chip Kelly = Big time external evidence on the hunt.

I'm ready for Kelly, Kelly is ready for Florida.

Because of his success at UCLA, Mora was courted by his alma mater, the University of Washington, to fill their vacated head coaching position. During his time as head coach of the Atlanta Falcons, Mora jokingly described the position at the University of Washington as his "dream job." However, Mora turned down a reputed offer and extended his contract with UCLA for another six years, stating that he wants to eventually "hopefully retire" as head coach of UCLA. Weeks later, Mora reaffirmed his intent to remain UCLA's head football coach by turning down a reputed offer for the head coaching position with the University of Texas. In 2014, Mora earned almost $3.5 million, which is a 44 percent increase over the $2.4 million he earned in 2013, making him the highest-paid employee of the state of California as of that year.

Jim Mora was fired on November 19, 2017, one day after UCLA's third consecutive loss to its crosstown rival USC.

Fired a dude on his birthday who turned down multiple jobs to stay and coach the team just for a shot at a big time coach.

frick UCLA.

He shouldn't have mailed it in these last 2 years. He's 50+ years old. Wgaf when he was fired? He's gone. Now UCLA has a great shot at Kelly.

UCLA has a brand new standalone facility that we don't have. With the lead booster that's courting Kelly name on it. Our similar facility had been delayed. I also heard that the people chip met with have given him a guarantee to get the facilities he wants.

I have also heard that part of the negotiation was to have housing taken care of similar to Saban at Bama.

Recruiting wise Florida is a great place because there is just Talent all over. The issue is the concentration of schools you are competing with for those players. When he was at Oregon he came in as a new coach and won games with what he was able to get. Now he's a high-profile name and I think he can recruit now wherever he goes. But at UCLA he is in California where they have a good recruiting base with one major player in the game consistently to compete with.

Another reporter put out this.
"If Urban Meyer didn't go to Ohio State, he was absolutely going to go to UCLA. ... Florida fans, they think Chip Kelly is going to Florida because it's a better job. Urban told me he did not believe the package they sent him in terms of the UCLA job." -- Dan Dakich
Not sure of how much of that I believe.

I still think we land him. But I think only because I believe in Stricklin. The good news is no one really knows a hundred percent on both sides of the fan base.
