See what we can come up with and agree upon. Then compare it to what coaches do.

NT- Slaton
DT- Campbell/Dexter
DE - Carter
Buck - Cox Jr
LB - Miller
LB - Diabate/Houston
Star - Stewart
CB- Elam
S - Davis
S - Johnson
CB - Hill and Kimbrough rotate

Feel it gives us more size up front, speed at LB, and an athletic secondary. It will still struggle, but it has to be better than the shite show so far. It removed the three major player issues in Stiner, Burney, and Wilson at least.

On defense, start running something of a 4 - 2 - 5, but instead of two safeties, start playing 4 cornerbacks. Our best defensive plays last game were both cornerback blitzes, which go to the QB and disrupted the play and ran down a running play from behind. Line up two interior CBs, blitz one of them about 75% of the game and adjust the coverage.

Stop playing zone, it's just a recipe for a bust.

Start limiting Wilson's reps or play him in the second half so he's fresh and going up against receivers who have been on the field. Stiner also doesn't have a rotation in my one-safety look.

I’d run a 5-2 just to clog up the line and make the reads easier for the linebackers.

Technically, my defense is more of a six five because very likely the LBs just have man on the RB and a spy zone.

Otherwise that other MLB is just going in on a blitz.

I just looked at our roster and I retract my statement on the 5-2. We only have 11 defensive lineman on the roster

Defensive line recruiting his first two classes was awful...and its showing. Turner got here and fixed a lot but it was brutally bad for awhile.

We seem to all agree on who should be on the field. Other Gator sites seem about the same. We shall see.

And Elam and Hill have gotta be our 1-2 punch at CB going forward.

Yep. They both have played well. Kimbrough has been decent too. Johnson struggled week 1 but that's understandable. Freshman facing Kiffin and he was lost.

His run down of the running back on the last drive was easily the best defensive play all game for us(sad). That was fire and heart and I'll take that EVERYDAY over this soft shite we have. I'll live with the mistakes he makes if he plays that hard every down.

No D

I dont see anything changing this year at all unfortunately with the lack of a strong paas rush which we have had that luxury for a long time. now that we don't have that this year it really shows what a pass rush does for the rest of the defense especially in areas where you aren't the strongest like in the defensive backfield.

You want to put Dean back outside? I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to get four big guys up front and still have Cox on the field. Not sure it's possible sadly.
