I'm saying Mac is making a living beating terrible teams. The same problems as last year we had in the RZ, penalties, sloppy play on defense still are happening now and only one team was decent enough to makes up pay. That being UT. LDR has marginally improved the offense. That's bad for a self proclaimed guru on offense. Can any of you tell me what the highlight of Anthony Hines visit against Missouri was?
It wasn't meeting the staff, or seeing the LBers and defense shine. It was seeing a live alligator for the first time. That sums up this defensive staff to a T. Kids are more excited to see a reptile than this staff. That is why we finish middle of the pack in the SEC in recruiting

The offense is progressing.
Agreed.

Slowly.
Considering how Muschamp's last offense were giving us 350 yards a game his last year and 300 the year before his last...
I'd say we're going faster than we should have assumed.
Mac's last year even with Treon as quarterback produced more yards than all of Muschamp's tenure. (By 30 a game.)
This year we're at 426 yards a game and we'll probably keep it up there even with the remainder of our schedule.
It's actually pretty fast considering the abysmal offensive talent left over.

UF is going to put 4 more guys in the NFL in the first 3 rounds probably this next draft on defense.
People will continue to come play for Florida on the defensive side if they want to go to the league.
Just look at the development of a guy like Quincy Wilson as evidence. Or look at how Anazlone or Davis are playing. Those guys may have been muschamp recruits, but they have clearly gotten elite college coaching the past few years.
For that matter -look at players on offense. We are seeing clear development out of just about every position group, except MAYBE the OL - but even they have shown improvement over last year and had maybe their best game of the year last week outside of the 6 false start penalties.
Let's compare offense through 6 games 2015 and 2016
2015:
139 rushing per game
246 passing per game
385 total yards per game
15 sacks allowed
2016:
182 rushing per game
245 passing per game
427 total yards per game
6 sacks allowed
That looks like clear improvement to me. I think one of the big things you have to look for in a coaching staff - do most of their players get better year to year.... the answer for this staff right now is most definitely yes.
That's a good sign.

Dude, no one's saying we've got the greatest offense of all time.
We're saying it's fricking better.
Numbers wise, it's way better.
Aesthetically, it's better.
Again, are you saying we haven't improved at all?
Yardage we have.
Score we've gotten better by a long shot.
Third down %.
Literally almost every single category we're doing better, especially when we compare it to what you always compare it to -- Treon at quarterback.
In every category he's done better than Muschamp on offense, and on defense we've remained the same.
Period.
As a PS: The red zone inefficiency is really simple: We don't have the line to be consistent, but by next year we will.
But let me get the question out again?
Have we improved offensively since last year?

sloppy play on defense
Our defense is beating Muschamp's 2012 defense.
By 30 yards a game.
By .7 of a touchdown per game.
You're crazy man.

The offense has had two 500 yard games in the SEC, the first time since 2008. What more do you want from a guy rebuilding an offense?

All those players were showing signs of stardom before this staff arrived. Kirk Callahan gets credit for developing Neal and VH3 right?

Slayer never said anything about those guys, and said they were Muschamp recruits. Do you just not know how to read, or what?

No - Neal and VH3 had good coaching before Callahan got there, but he deserves some credit for their draft ranking. Remember he wasn't fired because he couldn't coach, he was fired because he couldn't recruit.
Wilson and Tabor were decent as freshmen, but they got 1 year of coaching under the old regime, and 2 under this one, and now they are all americans.
You really want to credit the old regime for that when they've been coached here for 2 years?
The point you just pivoted away from is that players under this regime have almost universally gotten better the longer that the staff has been here.
Do you not agree?

Hey look ma, I can cherry pick stats too:
2015 3rd down conversions - #95 nationally - 36.4%
2016 3rd down conversions - #9 nationally - 50.5%

But that stat isn't really cherry picking though. Coaching is 100% the reason for that uptick.
There is good reason to think that -- look at the new quarterback play, etc..
The problem with his stats is that, especially with the red zone, that can be acknowledged because of Oline play and a lack of true power running. Our Oline just isn't there yet to scare defenses to absolutely selling out on the run pre-snap.
That'll be shored up next year. But every offensive category that isn't attributed or tied to the Oline is much better than last year, and light years from the year before last.

WEVE PLAYED NOBODY THIS YEAR EXCEPT UT WHERE THE DEFENSE GAVE UP 498 YARDS AND 38 POINTS. The offense is marginally better playing some of the worst defenses in college football.
Ranked teams played in 2012:
6
Ranked teams played in 2016
1 with the most being 3. FSU and LSU suck and Arkansas is a Jekyll and hide team. This is the easiest UF schedule in looonngggg time.

He clearly said they improved because of this staff. Jarrad Davis was a team captain his freshman year. Can you not read?
Posted on 10/20/16 at 3:19 pm to slayerxing
If you play against subpar competition yes. Against teams with a pulse, we know how that goes.
Posted on 10/20/16 at 3:20 pm to TJGator1215
Team captain with 30 something tackles on a bad team. You are dumb. He benefitted greatly from shannons coaching.

There are good signs and some bad signs. It's not all sunshine and roses but it ain't doom and gloom either. You are being far too negative and very very selective with your arguments.

Do you think part of that is the second string quarterback playing the whole game? Do you think part of that is because someone forgot to recruit quarterbacks before they left?
Maybe because we were changing coaches, that's why our best quarterback transferred? Maybe because our best quarterback after him got popped for PEDs?
Not sure why you think we should have won in Neyland with our backup quarterback playing his first game at Florida in front of one of the loudest, most hostile environments in the league.
Can it just be expected that, without winning National Titles every year, you won't be happy?
When should Mac have been a better coach? When Treon took over?
You are absolutely the worst type of fan imaginable. Unreasonable standards backed up by unreasonable arguments.

injuries happen in football its part of the game. Mac recruited Both LDR and Appleby and claimed to win with a dog at QB. Jeff Driskel was here when Mac arrived. Mac let Grier walk in favor of LDR. You're making every excuse possibly for Mac. Now you're saying we shouldn't of won UT? Ffs we were up 21-0 nothing at one point and had 200 yards passing! I don't expect NCs every year but I expect UF to recruit better than #6 in the SEC and for the coaches to actually adjust and fix the same mistakes that have been happening for 1.5 years. I've already posted evidence of Bobby petrino changing his offense to fit his personnel, guess what? They're #1 in total offense! You'd be the guy on the titanic telling everyone to relax look at the beautiful sky after it hit the iceberg. My arguments are backed up by evidence and facts. Yours are propped by excuses
