Easy Lyfe...just chill. I hope he comes back soon, the board has been a battleground for a while...war is over and we all need to be understanding and kind. Will make us feel better I promise.

So our ban bet is nullified?

Just bumping this. Because Reel looks like an idiot and it's kind of beautiful.
Eat it. You were wrong. All you have to do is say sorry I don't know a thing about CFB, and you are forgiven and we can all move past it.
Us "not real fans" will sit back and see that UF has a great AD and UAA and they had the balls, unlike you, to see Mac was not good enough for Florida.
Glad you have no say in the system. You would still have Zook here.

You called me and anyone else who questioned Mac out. This isn't a battle. You humped Mac like a dead shark until the very end and turned the page like nothing happened once it was clear he was done.

Hey, guys, I get it -- you were right.
But can you guys chill the frick out and move on? This stuff's getting retarded.

I'll move on when I want to. I'm going to enjoy this. For almost 3 years I listened to you guys shite all over me from every direction. Now that I've been proven right you just want to move on. A few weeks or months won't hurt you.

Again for the 200th time...what are you knuckleheads thinking? Mac is our HC through 2018...he will get four years. If we don't improve a LOT, we all will want him gone and then discuss who UF should hire

Well...obviously I was wrong...the death threat thing sealed his fate...it wasnt Ws & Ls. Buy I don't owe shite to anyone pal. I support 100% whoever the HC is until they are no longer the coach. I will support the next coach just as much when you guys start bitching about him also.
I supported Zook, & Boom...Straw and I had our disagreements over Boom and that's ok, I still respect him and in the end we are Gator fans.
You can bump this all you want but it isn't a good look. If Mac was our HC til 2021 I wouldn't want an apology from anyone...that's grade school.

You still haven’t learn from your mistakes. Your still drinking the look aid . Some of you guys either know nothing about football or your so drunk on the look aid 24/7 that you refuse to see reality.

It's funny how you guys say that you know so much about football -- and while you were right about McElwain, you were wrong about every other coach you used to discredit him outside of Kirby.
1. Harbaugh. Oh, how I remember when you said he was a real Head Coach. How I remember this so vividly. What's funny is that he lost to Penn State almost the same that we lost to Georgia.
2. Jimbo Fisher. You salivated at the name! He's got a worse record than McElwain this year -- and I'll wager that it remains worse. You were so high on him and constantly praised his capacity -- doesn't look like daddy panned out for you.
3. USC. Remember about how they won in spite of their injuries? Remember how they got trounced exactly the same week you praised them?
I still don't think you know much about football, I still don't think you have a keen eye -- if you were right, it was by mere chance of being wrong so many times about so many things that eventually it had to come about.
Sun shines on a dog's arse every once in a while.

I don't personally enjoy the state being in the situation that we're in.
I hope we hit a grand slam hire, but enjoying the situation Florida is in due to self gratification is questionable behavior

He'd much rather lose to UGA than be right than beat UGA and be wrong, that much is 100% certain. I've never seen someone gloat about their own team doing poorly outside of Tennessee fans.

We all believed in Mac at one time. We will find reasons to believe in the next coach as well. None of us should gloat because we all want the same thing. However, today is a day for all of us to celebrate that great days are ahead and we're still all Gators.

quote:I don't think it's this. None of us want UF to lose in anything BUT there comes a time when you just know that we are not very good. I was shocked how many people here thought we had a chance of beating UGA. I really saw no way for us to win with Mac at the helm. I've felt this way about him since year one. He's never out schemed or out coached anyone (maybe LSU last year). So you become ambivalent to the mess you see each week. It's like an abusive relationship. You want it to get better but you really just want it to end. I was done with Mac but the only way other people can see what I saw was for him to implode, which he did.

Time to move forward together as Gators.

I figured we had no chance with Franks. He literally offered us nothing Zaire can bring us outside of a deep threat that he can never set up because he doesn't make quick enough reads and he stares down receivers.
Zaire is better at: Seeing the field, reading the pre-snap defense, scrambling, keeping his eyes downfield just in case things break down, moving in the pocket, making the read option.
It could have very easily been 7 - 7 going into half-time if Franks had been able to, at the very least, gin up a little offense and make a few first downs.
A 4th and 1 playaction is great if you actually have a quarterback who can fricking move and see.
McElwain was just a stubborn fool, however, and it wasn't meant to be. I actually do think if we had another coach, even if it was Shannon, this game would have gone differently.

^ I think Mac would have screwed up Zaire too. He seemed to put players in poor positions then threw them under the bus instead of taking responsibility. I'm curious to see how the offense looks this week but I don't expect immediate miracles because it takes a while to change a loser culture.

I think what I should have prefaced with is:
Zaire looked good in spite of the poor playcalling.
The play where he scrambled and made a long cross-field throw to an open receiver on third and long is what I'm referring to.
Zaire can make plays with his legs or his arm, and even if the playcall is wrong he can at least get us out of it.
Franks just panics. His eyes are downfield but he sees nothing. It's not just one game -- it's ever game.
He just doesn't look comfortable at all -- and it's fully on the staff to recognize it. We keep dropping him back to make NFL reads when we should be doing a spread type of deal that he can make the read before the snap.
1. Check the perimter, are the cornerbacks playing off of the receivers? Throw it out there.
2. Check the slot receiver, is he being covered man to man? Jet-sweep.
3. Are they all man to man? Check in, run it -- but not the same dive play. Run a dive here and there, but also run it to the perimeter, even do a read option.
4. Are they man to man and bringing pressure? Quick screen, if we're close to a first down, try to get it out to Cleveland on a called-bomb.
What McElwain's plan was:
Plan A., nothing else.

I'm hoping we can at least line up without stupid motion penalties. Then hopefully look like we know what the forward pass is. This offense has been a mess for a long time. It's going to take some time to clean up.
