My anti smokescreen theory

There is absolutely no way in hell that the Chip Kelly rumors were started as a smoke screen to throw off the fans and the media on the coaching search. Here is why.....
1 - If you smoke screen you put out a name like Mike Norvell. The reason is, is that if you end up with Norvell the fanbase pretty much expects it and moves on, but if you do land Kelly then it turns into "holy shite we just hired Chip Kelly" and then its a pleasant surprise of orgasmic proportions.
2 - If you throw Kelly as a smokescreen then every one else that could be hired becomes a disappointment. Even Frost.
There is only one legit reason they may be doing Kelly as a smokescreen. They are trying to put the screws to Frost to get a commitment out of him now. But I don't think they are doing that all.

frost may have told strick that he's going to lincoln and now we're going after kelly. kelly is the guy he wanted and it's now come out.
either way, frost seems to be headed to lincoln, whether he turned us down or not is irrelevant.

I'm perfectly fine with this. Kelly is a proven winner. Frost has high upside for sure..but seriously.Kelly did this at Oregon. His offense was successful in the NFL as well. His down fall was his GM decisions(Spurrier can tell you a lot about NFL failure as can Saban).
