He should of slid. Now they can tie the game theoretically.

I can only imagine Trask coming in and winning the game had to be a better high for Straws than even the finest of indulgences I had back in my wayward youth as a musician.

Still doesn't change the fact that we need a lot of improvement in the trenches. Cant win every game like this

Two long years. They told me to email Dan Mullen. Almost daily. After 20,000 emails, the same amount of posts and solitary protests in the streets -- the time has arrived.
It really bothers me that I was right about Mullen's ego, though, and that worries me more than anything. I thought it was really, really obvious that Trask at least gives us the downfield threat and passing attack to open the game up, and I even called for a jetsweep several pages ago.
Maybe I should be on the staff.

I think part of it was the team played better too.
And uk got tight.
But yeah trask can fling it.

I would hate to be straws meat tonight. But thank God trask did what he did.

We seem to have a nack for winning close games now. Kind of nice. But holy shite we have a lot to clean up. Run blocking is the worst I've seen here in forever. Really stand by Pierce touching it more. He is just quicker so he can get to the hole a step faster to get an extra few yards. Perine seems...off.

Not necessarily. Could be ego, or it could be one of those things where Franks really does look better in practice. Florida is weird because they had a coach at one time who had no issues rolling through the backups QBs. I think that attitude worked its way into the culture at UF more than most places, but there are a lot of coaches that are ride or die with the starter even when he seems to not be panning out. Not sure if it's ego, fearing the devil you know less than the one you don't, or a combination of both.

I think anyone would behind that shite blocking. We gotta reevaluate the OL across the board.

It's exactly what I said, I'll just paraphrase:
Downfield passing opens the game up, makes us less predictable and makes it easier for both running and passing.
Just look at the first drive he entered the game:
1st & 10 at FLA 38
(14:49 - 4th) Kyle Trask pass complete to Van Jefferson for 8 yds to the Fla 46
2nd & 2 at FLA 46
(14:15 - 4th) Kyle Trask pass complete to Josh Hammond for 14 yds to the Kent 40 for a 1ST down
1st & 10 at UK 40
(13:40 - 4th) Kyle Trask pass complete to Van Jefferson for 20 yds to the Kent 20 for a 1ST down
1st & 10 at UK 20
(13:11 - 4th) Kyle Trask pass complete to Van Jefferson for 12 yds to the Kent 8 for a 1ST down
Touchdown run for 8 yards to top it off. Why? Because Kentucky was afraid of the pass and had no idea what we were going to do.
It's synergistic.
You just never really saw Franks hitting three first downs back to back to back like that ever.

I guess that’s true
Well it’s all trask now. Let’s see what he can do.

I'm telling you, it has very little to do with the OL. It could be much better, but we have to scheme around them and it's not impossible when you have so many weapons on the field at one time. The jetsweep is an example of how you can stop defensive linemen from just shoving people back and inside blitzing.
The runs to the outside have no misdirection and really we just aren't being creative with our playcalling at all.
I hope this changes. We have Tennessee at home (we should be able to beat them easily) and then Towson.
Trask is going to have to grow up very, very fast.

It's ego.
There's no way a person like me, who only played high school football at strong safety and joined the military (who knows what would have happened) can call this for two years.
I knew this from when Trask picked up a scholarship as a 2-star. I even broke it down in how Trask helps the offense in the Spring Game of 2018.
There is no way I know more about Quarterbacks. Mullen had to have known but either A. Trusted leadership over skill or B. Was too enthralled with the idea of repairing a Quarterback.
He did all he could with Franks, but anyone with really in depth QB knowledge can see that there were so many weapons missing from his arsenal that he needed help.
In all honesty, I wanted Franks to be benched, no one wants to see an injury, but this is not the end:
Franks hasn't played 4 games, he can apply for a Grayshirt and get a sixth year. If I were him, I'd go to somewhere like Texas Tech or another pass happy team and just focus on that for the next two years. Get him with a team that is nothing but passing, reading defenses and the like -- he shouldn't be wasting his time running the ball at Florida where passing really isn't a big deal in a Mullen offense.
This isn't a slight at Mullen (the Ego part is), but Franks really, really needs to work on all aspects of his passing game that he simply will not receive at Florida.
