Bunch of our guys get bumped up and FSU players drop.

Having 3 players bumped to 4 stars while FSU's newest commits get dropped to 3 stars is hella nice.

Also, I'd take Jalon Jones over their boy any day of the week.

Recruiting notes behind the paywall:

5-star running back Trey Sanders is a hot commodity on the recruiting trail. He just completed his second visit to Georgia this spring after seeing Florida State, Miami, as well as Florida. Sanders also plans to take all five of his official visits before announcing a commitment. However, despite all of these recent visits, future trips, and a desire to stretch his recruitment deep into the fall, Florida still looks to be in the driver’s seat for the time being. Sanders admits UF having his brother committed there is a big deal, as the two have talked about playing their college football together over the years. The older Sanders is also recruiting him to go to UF extremely hard as well. Florida’s coaching staff has done a good job getting in the mix this spring with three visits to Gainesville recently. Being the Nation’s top running back this cycle, expect the elite programs in the Nation to take their crack to Sanders going forward, and UF has to fight them off as the continue to factor high in his recruitment.

Zipperer is indeed less interested in Florida after someone he wanted to play with (Robinson) seems to be less involved with the program.

John Dunmore (4* WR), Cameron Williams (3* DE) and Lloyd Summerall (4* DE) will visit this weekend.

Jamarkis Weston is speculated to be processed out of the '19 class.

Confirmed by SEC Country that Hunter is releasing his top (???) list. Do. Not. Fall. For. The. Bait.

I have no idea when he plans on committing, but I know he's going to drag this out. All I can say is don't worry -- at least until we start dropping games.

Tyron Hopper 4* LB commits to the good guys!

Edit: He was also invited to the 247 5* Invite, not saying he's a 5* yet but I could easily see him getting there before the end of the season. His camps should give him a huge boost.

Great in coverage, too. Hoppers a fantastic get.

What gets me excited is that a lot of sources that were certain about Hopper are also certain about some other big names. Stay tuned.

This is probably going to be a nerve-wracking recruiting year for Florida fans. I expect recruiting to pick up bigly if the season goes well, but it's tough to get excited about Florida recruiting as it stands TODAY when Georgia and FSU are killing it and UF is just meh. Just as a point of reference, all 7 of Georgia's recruits and 8 of FSU's 10 recruits are currently rated higher on 247 than the best recruit UF has picked up this cycle.

In regards to Georgia: We can't expect to compete with them recruiting until we show we can compete on the field.

In regards to FSU: Two of their commitments just got downgraded to 3*s (their two newest) and three of ours were upgraded.

There's this strange thing where people are really getting whipped up into a frenzy, but just remember: It's still Summer. There ain't even a little bit of ink on paper yet.

Most of our targets are also long-term. We're almost certainly going to get Pittman and Sanders, Hopper is probably going to end as a 5* (he is the real deal) and Jalon Jones is going to really improve his stock.

I think we just gotta relax and hope to God we put on a good unit in September.

FSU are killing it

LOL

Dent is a stud and Lucas is a good prospect. However, Goolsby is slow as shite, Howell is short and slow, McRae's knees are bad. I don't know about the rest of FSU's commits.

Much rather have Marks, Jones, and Hopper. Most of the high priority recruits for 2019 are still out there.

247 is behind on their updates.

I don't really care that much about recruiting until closer to signing day, I'm speaking more about the fanbase as a whole.

The rest of the fanbase is going to get antsy if those stars aren't showing up next to peoples names over the course of the summer and fall on the gators recruiting list.

We saw it every year under the last coaching regime.

How good the team is on the field is going to be huge. Need a Meyer-esque first year with 9 wins and a thrashing of FSU.

To be honest, most of the fanbase will give a shite about recruiting during the football season. Winning and a decent looking offense will make everyone happy. Losing and a shitty offense will make everyone grab a torch and pitchfork.

Way, way, way behind -- and a lot of that will be adjusted by signing day. A LOT. Taggart has been known to take risks and it continues into this season.

Sanders will probably be a Gator, and we're in play for a ton of DBs since ours will probably all be gone by the end of 2019.

Unless we suck. Then we're in for a very long year,

247 has Stampini doing evals on players. He consistently dogs UF commits over time.

Infamously said that Quincy Wilson would never make it at the SEC level as a CB.

Bobby Wolfe, 4* DB pens in an official.

Strange, because we weren't even in the running for him.

EL Disagreeo for Cinco de Mayo

Ws & Ls aren't the key number one ingredient in recruiting. I like to use the UGA example under Richt when they went 6-7...that winter saw them sign a 2nd rated class.

Kids will sign at their favorite schools or their parents/siblings/friends favorite schools and they also look at rosters to see how much play time they can get.

If you look at Meatchicken and their recruiting..Ws & Ls aren't the reason they've scored. ESPN is in their and Ohio States hip pockets of course. We get very little play from that four letter monster...and it aint Ws & Ls either.

I'm not saying winning isn't good for recruiting, but recruiting prowness is also important...some staffs are really good in the living room and we have a great school to promote. Done correctly, a 7-5 season could be used as an advantage that we need immediate help. Of course we don't want that kind of season and I certainly don't expect it.
