I don't post much here, but I read this board every damn day. I've been reading a lot of speculation about if Noland or Doty should start against ECU. I just want to give my thoughts on this and get everyone else's opinion.

My Thoughts:

Start Doty. By all means, this dude is the QB of our program, for the foreseeable future. Even if he isn't 100% with running, he will stand in the pocket just like Noland and attempt his throws, manage this game. This is what Doty needs. He needs that real time game experience. He started his first game against Georgia last year, and he actually did pretty well. I think we need to get him a start before Georgia this year so he can shake off the rust, get those defensive looks, and get confident.

I don't want to discount Noland. The guy played pretty hard last week. Made some good throws. I thought he was pretty accurate, damn he threaded a needle on the first TD. With all of that said, the guy just isn't the future of this team.

Win or lose, Doty needs the experience, he needs to play. He's the future at the position.

Just my thoughts, one caveat though. Doty shouldn't play if it may injure him further.

What's everyone else's thoughts?

Noland had a good game week 1. If the staff has any doubt about Doty hold him out, no need to aggravate his ankle. Have confidence Beamer makes the right decision here.
