Elliott - 1st team is doing really well, there's a lot of effort by everyone. Cody is picking things up quickly, he's being told how to do something right one day and then doing it right the next day, he's doing an exceptional job thus far. Shell won't be surprised by as much this year. Mason is doing a fabulous job, and Elliott really likes him, but wants him to gain more weight, but likes his work ethic (he's 295 lbs right now.) As far as #2's, Voneshek (sp) is doing really well and Alan Knott stepped in as well. Clayton Stadnik had a concussion, he has come back and he's doing better (good to hear.)

Dylan Thompson - Putting in a lot of hours. Has been studying film with Shaw, says UNC is very athletic and said a lot of positive things about them. As a player, he said that he's improved his knowledge of the offense and the checks. Said he likes to run the ball when it's called for him. Team chemistry is good right now, and the new receivers are trying their best to learn. He said it's not a good idea to split him out wide, b/c he's not as good of an athlete.

Drew Owens - Cut his long hippy hair. They have the athleticism, skill and coaches to be the best TE group in the nation. He's trying to improve his speed the most, back to where it was before his injury.

Shaw - Camp has gone well. He had a back spasm and it's been treated. He's taping both feet as a precaution. Young guys are really stepping up. Wants to be more of a complete player, trying to improve his whole game. He and Dylan have watched UNC film all summer. They like to blitz a lot. It's going to be a fun season (he says with a stone face.)

Mangus - Both QB's have done enough to show they deserve to play. Connor had one of the best practices he's had today. (they tried to ask him about putting 2 QB's back there, and he dodged it.) Connor is a serious guy, but he's got an oner'ry streak, and it helps him. Connor and Dylan both have the "IT" factor, but they show it differently.
