- Ced Cooper to DE
- Jamari Smith to CB (officially)

Guessing Cooper moving makes room for BAW and others at LB? He's a little undersized at 6'2 220 but we'll see.

Smith makes more sense but I was hoping he might stay at RB once we whiffed on Derrell Scott. But that would mean a spring practice w/ almost no CBs so I'm guessing that partly accounts for the move.

Could be a similar move that Kelvin Rainey made. Just for the spring until the horde of freshmen arrive.

This one is mindboggling to me. If he struggled putting on weight at LB I don't see how hes got any chance at all to get on the field at DE

I wonder if any guards we have will move over to tackle this year or next. Seems like we have a ton of guards but are kinda thin at tackle

Coop was supposed to be a leader at LB this past season. He may have done a lot of that in practice, but as far as ability goes, he was passed on the depth chart by several FR/RSFR, so they are trying to find him a new spot. Also, he has had enough time in the defense, (I think this will be his 4th season) he may be able to pickup DE quicker than some of the guys coming in. He needs to put on some weight though.

I'm not surprised to hear about Smith going to back to CB though, we don't have many bodies to practice at CB in Spring ball.

Yes, I believe Rivals just updated their list. All the guys under the FR column were the RS. What's good news is that Knott and Rodgers were both able to RS. Although I still won't be surprised if Rodgers leaves w/i 4 years.

Lsst year's FR who didn't RS were:
Walton
Moore
Griffin
Cooper
Jamari Smith
Bryant

Remember that list shows 90 guys on our potential roster, so we have to get down to 82 somehow (non-qualifier, transfer, just quits, etc....)

Larenz Bryant didn't redshirt, either, it looks like.

I think Bryant makes a move to start this year. Really liked him coming out of high school. Depends on what version of Golightly shows up early on.

Didn't know we burned Griffin's redshirt.
