I have an rv spot rented for a long weekend in October. Never been. Seems popular based on how many spots were available. The main point of the trip is Walhalla Oktoberfest where we typically either day trip or primitive camp. So at least 1 full day of that. How is fishing in the campground lake? I got a spot on it so hopefully it's not like most campground lakes that are fished out. Also, do you need a fishing license to fish from the bank? When I used to live in SC, it was not a requirement. Im also relatively new to RVing, this will be my second time. Anything specific to know about this place?

I dunno about the state park, but there is really good trout fishing in the Chattooga River about 10 mins up the road. It borders SC and GA so I THINK you can fish it with either a SC or GA license. (But it's been a long time since I fished it so check before you go.)

Pretty small lake, my guess is its fished out by that point in the year.

Im a chattooga expert but it's hard fishing with a 5yo. But I agree, good fishing there if you know what you are doing and willing to work a little.

I feel you. My brother lives in that neck of the woods (G-ville-Spartanburg). I'll ask him if he knows of a place the next time I talk to him.
