quote:

Exhibit No. 1,027: this interview with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, in which Spurrier takes a sharp jab at an anonymous Big Ten team which lost out on a recruit who went on to sign with Spurrier's Gamecocks.

“We don't run into much of any negative recruiting around here as SEC coaches,” Spurrier said. “We were involved with a player who was being recruited by a Big Ten school. They got negative a little bit with ‘There's a lot of crime in Columbia, the big city. They don't graduate their players,' which was completely untrue.

"They searched for a little bit of everything but the player came with us anyways.”

TBS just reported that it was Nebraska

Huskers were talking about it earlier LINK

quote:

He just pissy cuz Bo came in and all but took a high prof guy out of his back yard and the only reason he went with SC is because his parents wanted him close to home.

quote:

all SEC schools face the same high crime rates and same low graduate rates. Frankly, if this was a Nebraska coach and they did say something like "the crime rate is higher" and "we graduate more players," I'm totally fine with that. It's how you sell your school/town, and according to the stats I posted above, both are true.

quote:

the guy is like my dingle berries.. gross, annoying, painful and stank

quote:

Can't believed no one here mentioned the fact that Spurrier is probably still a little poopy about a 62-24 beatdown Nebraska put on him in the NC

quote:

True enough, bu lincoln itself has been on many top lists for places to live and one reason is its low crime rate.

I post over there pretty regularly. It's a good place with good people but they have some interesting opinions at times.

Just read your response, they're probably going to go wild with that.

I got along with that crowd great until the McClain stuff happened. However, I'm sure it was just a couple of bad apples. I post over there as CockInYourEar as well.
