So what do you think about us burning a schollie on a QB in this class?
More signs of dementia?
The more I listened to him talk about it the more I understood burning the 1 timeout, but not the 2nd.
A lot of strange calls ate starting to add up.
Also, speaking of called, the refs in Knoxville sucked. Why couldn't we get the Aubie refs.

Not real happy with burning a schollie on a run of the mill QB this class.
I hate complaining about refs but i'll be damned if it doesnt feel like we are getting outright cheated at some times. And i dont mean honest mistakes, i mean malucious and one sided calls from the zebras.
I am not generally a spurrier apologist, and sure i wish we would have run mike davis more in the 4th quarter, but tennessee was expecting it. A lot of playcallers will tell you the idea is to do the opposite of what the other team expects you to do. Of the 8 final pass plays called, if connor completes one we probably win the game...i find it impossible to believe nobody was open with tennessee expecting the run and loading the box.
And shite , in retrospect, we should have gone for it on 4th and 2....and i know, nobody likes a monday morning qb

It is what it is. I feel the same now as I did when screaming at the TV "run the damned football!" We ran the option 2 times and it worked great one time and pretty good the second.
I feel like this loss is on the coaching staff and shaw like 70/30. He held onto the ball to long and pulled up to throw when he scrambled instead of his natural urge to run it. If you rewatch the game you can see him hesitate when he goes to run and pulls up to throw. The coaching staff should have not been so vanilla with the run calls to MD IMHO. Yes we lined up and blew UCF and Arky off the ball, but that wasn't happening to Tenn so I felt we should have tried to get Davis in space with the option or sweeps.. something to run the clock and move the chains other than throwing. This is where I felt the staff should have pulled the reigns off Shaw and told him to run if he needed to, to kill the clock. He holds onto it too long and gets injured in the process whereas run first Shaw would have ran for 6-8yrads after the first read.
It is a terrible catch 22. Our guys have to realize that giving any team 3 chances to get into field goal range puts the odds terribly against us.
And for my weekly defensive complaint, our dbs play for the tackle instead of the ball?
Here's to hoping that the film room points out our youngsters mistakes boldly!

WTF are we doing here? Is this kid the biggest steal of the '14 class?

Yeah maybe our coaches are smarter than everyother bcs conf school in america and scouting services. Or maybe they arent. Our qb track record would suggest they are not.

Looks like he's got some potential.
4.34 GPA and 1610 SAT? Day-um!

Wish they would get rid of the writing portion and stick with the 1600 SAT score of the math and reading sections.

The more I hear about him, the more I'm starting to think it just may be ... at least according to some of those around the program.
